Um... there is already an article called Scripting programming language. I think this content needs to be merged with that article, and this page made a redirect. func(talk) 17:01, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC)

script is morelike an advanced MACRO other than a programming language.

I think merging is reasonable[edit]

I would think the "script" is the actual program code, so to speak. A scripting language would be the overall context in which the script would be executed. It's like Visual Basic code versus the Visual Basic programming/executaion environment. I can't see a strong argument for not having those discussed together as a whole. Granted something like VBScript is probably more structured than a DOS batch file, but I'm not sure that difference really coincides with the difference between a "script" and a "scripting programming language."
