I think they should be two different articles as they are about different (but related) things.
I do disagree about merging the two articles. An Information Architect is a person in charge of building an information architecture. However, I don't see how we can descrive a position or job in the same article as we introduce the thing this person works on. For example, the article on information architect could include qualifications, degrees...
I fully agree with your comment. Architecture (the concept) and Architect (for people) are different things.

The only information here was a defintion of information architecture, so I have redirected this page to Information Architecture. If someone wants to contribute an article on information architect, please do so. Kcordina 16:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
