Having just read your response, I don't think I was very clear. I do go to Columbia. I'm against merging all Columbia-related articles. I meant to try to explain the existence of so many Columbia-related articles. I thought the reason might be that there are many Wikipedians affiliated to Columbia. Mat334 22:22, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Categorisation[edit]

Gidday. I see you've created and populated Category:People associated with Columbia University. That's great. When you create a new category like this, you might like to assign the category page itself to higher-level categories. For this one, I've made it a child of Category:Columbia University and Category:People notable within notable organizations, following the model of Category:Stanford University people.-gadfium 00:05, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Glad to see you vote delete too. Was it an exercise in postmodernism or did you seriously want to formulate a license tag? If the latter, I'd be glad to help, though the explicit at-least-GFDLing required by wikipedia will quite significantly change what appears to be the intent of that template (I'm not a lawyer, but I do have some experience with partially-"free" licensing). --fvw* 06:24, 2004 Dec 17 (UTC)
    • I simply did not understand the prescription of what exactly is Public domain. That is all. I have now read up on it, I am sorry. Could you do me a favor, and VFD for Image:Kardashevprojectionlowquality.jpg I accidentally posted it, and I really do not want to deal with legal ickiness with microsoft, so I really want to get rid of it as soon as possible.       • Everybody makes mistakes, no problem. I've added a DB tag on your image, I don't think it's strictly a speedy delete but seeing as nobody's using it, and you, the author, want it deleted I have high hopes some kind admin will delete it. I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble though; the worst that can happen is that wikipedia gets sent a nastygram warning them to remove the image, at which point somebody deletes the image and that's the end of that. --fvw* 06:51, 2004 Dec 17 (UTC)
        • By the way, there's no consensus on this, but generally you're more likely to have your messages read if you reply on the talk page of the person you're talking to. Not everybody does this, but as some people have very large watch lists, communication does tend to get lost otherwise. --fvw* 06:53, 2004 Dec 17 (UTC)

Energy Development and Hubbert's Peak Theory[edit]

There is a little storm brewing at Hubbert peak concerning, well, many things. But currently concerning how to organize information concerning future development of energy schemes (phrased as "Oil Alternatives" or "Future energy development" depending on whom you ask). As you might guess, Hubbert Peak is an article that might be expected to draw a lot of public interest and heat; Energy development is not. We could use your input regarding how to proceed.
