Looking for articles to work on?[edit]

Hello, Foolswisdom. I'm SuggestBot, a Wikipedia bot that helps new members contribute to Wikipedia. You might like to edit these articles I picked for you based on things you've edited in the past. Check it out -- I hope you find it useful. -- SuggestBot 14:34, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Archives[edit]

Aside, what do you mean by "archiving it"?

Instead of deleting some old comments and leaving others behind, moving the old contents of the talk page to a subpage. That way people who want to check whether an issue has come up in the past can just check the subpage instead of wading through (potentially hundreds of) old revisions of the talk page. It's fairly simply to move an entire page, and it preserves the page history nicely. So I'll do that when I have a moment tomorrow.

I feel like there is quite a bit of priestly and arcane practices with Wikipedia, which is unfortunate because it greatly reduces people's participation.

I hope I didn't come across as jumping on you. I agree there are shedloads of policies and practices on Wikipedia. Fortunately, very few people need to know them all! I personally know practically nothing about the image upload process, but on the other hand I'm pretty good at knowing how to mark up references. Some other people spend all their time correcting categories. And so on.

Hope this helps! Telsa (talk) 00:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
