I agree with this--without doubt Jonathan Edwards the theologian is the most important and well-known of these people.

Well, I've heard of the theologian, but I agree that the athlete is currently the more famous holder of the name. athlete is unknown and not significant. the theologian made a big influence on american religion that has formed many churches. athlete was known for a season probalby will be forgotton soon. theologian has been around 300yrs and not forgotton. I propose redirecting this to the theologian.

The athlete is a multiple gold medal winner and former world record holder. That hardly makes him unknown, by any meaningful measurement. Remember, Wikipedia has a global audience, not just Americans. MarkSG 20:59, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
