Hi, I closed the afd in according to your wishes and put the proposed merge tags on the pages. Please see Talk:List of Everybody Loves Raymond episodes (Seasons 5-9) and put your comments there on why you'd want it merged. If you think the afd (here) had a clear enough consensus that it shouldn't be merged, feel free to remove the merge tags from the pages. - Bobet 17:03, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, Bobet... the AfD was an oversight on my part, so I appreciate you taking care of that for me. --Kinu 20:36, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Abdul Qadir Al Rassam

Hi, I've added some information to the article. You might like to have a look at the result? Dlyons493 Talk 00:18, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the note... sorry I didn't get the chance to change my assertion on the AfD page, but I was planning on changing it to keep, since it looks much better now with the added information. I wasn't aware of the variant spellings, so my Google test was definitely flawed. Glad to see the consensus was keep! --Kinu 20:14, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

You have been great on AfD lately - midwest insurance etc - but this vote seems funny - it is just a hall of residence. If it were notable like some at Oxford it could stay, but it is not. There are truly 500 thousand such halls that will want articles if agree this on. Anyway keep editing you are a great asset to Wikipedia.Obina 00:39, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the kind words, Obina, and for prompting me to give this a second thought. I had cited a reason to research this further, but forgot about doing so until your message. After further review, I actually decided to change my vote to delete on this one, as per my reasons on the AfD page. --Kinu 02:11, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Cool. You rock. And I see you took some undeserved abuse today. Chin up.Obina 13:54, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Approval

Kano, I have gotten the ok from Zinda Magazine to the picture (Image:RosieMalekYonan2) it. That is why I putted under the title: GFDH Chaldean 22:50, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

  • After checking the site, I saw the copyright notice at the bottom which extended its use. I'm not sure of the fair use implications here, though, so I'd feel better letting an Admin take a look at it. At any rate, it has to stay on WP:Copyvio for 7 days while it is looked over, so if it's all right, then the notice will be removed by an Admin and it'll be good to go. Thanks for your patience! --Kinu 00:01, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I have removed the copyright violation notice for this image, per the reason described above, and assert that it is fair use under the good faith presumption that you have secured the necesary permission. --Kinu 08:19, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Those links can be deleted. Please reconsider your vote for an article with the external links removed. - Mgm|(talk) 09:46, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Actually, my vote is to delete: Delete per all above. --Kinu 00:31, 6 February 2006 (UTC)). --Kinu 17:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Ack... I misread your comment. After rereading and reconsidering it, I changed my vote to keep. Sorry for the confusion. --Kinu 18:55, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Please do not cross post commentary about an AfD both there and to my talk page. If you have potential, non-personal information of which to inform me, you may do so in the AfD, so that the information may be disseminated to others who might be interested in the vote as well. --Kinu 21:55, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Haha. No Not Matlab.

reprinted from the deletion Talk page for Mahtab: Just because Smith is in English doesn't mean it is Universally accepted as common and furthermore does not also mean that names derived in other languages and VERY common in 3rd world countries are not common simply because they are not in English. The daughter in the Sally Field and Alfred Molina movie Not Without My Daughter was named Mahtab. See cast list on IMDB. PS-If Alfred Molina, the beloved Doc Oc from the second Spiderman movie, had to recite the name Mahtab in one of his movies....I would say it is common enough (to name a main character in an American movie Mahtab would make it common in my opinion). Madangry 21:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Response to this thread on AfD page. --Kinu 21:37, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I did not intend to offend you nor put words in your mouth. Touche for the other names. I'm still a BIT confused as to why you and the nom are comparing this first name with surnames though...if you could clear that up I'd be most appreciative. If Hollywood and Google aren't convincing enough for you that is fine. We will see what the admins think when they see this talk page. Yes? Madangry 22:34, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
      • No worries... as I noted on the AfD page, I apologize if my attitude was curt as well, and I've also seen some promise in the article (i.e., it's more encyclopedic and less dictionary-like), so I've changed my vote to keep. --Kinu 06:01, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
        • Really, I appreciate that. Thanks Kinu. I'm relatively new to all this...and I'm still getting the hang of writing quality articles. I mean, if they delete it, they do. Not much I can do about it. I've already had an article deleted once. It all depends on what fits. Anyway, thanks again. Have a great weekend! Madangry 06:59, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
          • PS-I just noticed your edits to the article. Very nicely done. With help, I can get to your level... :) Madangry 07:01, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

prod2 ??

I'm learning something new here. I tend to put articles I mark for deletion on watch, because some people remove the tags and I was a bit surprised that you added a {{prod-2}} to it, but I don't see the relevance of it because if I understand it correctly somebody can still remove it or am I missing something (confused??) Dr Debug (Talk) 22:15, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Actually, it's something new that I learned today too... I'm not sure on which PRODed article I saw it first, but I figure it's useful as a double-check mechanism. Even though the article must be reviewed before it is deleted, it seems like an assertion that, "Look, there's no point in removing the PROD, since it's obviously going to go to AfD and highly likely to be deleted anyway." The more I think about it, redundant as it may be, it's at the least a pat on the back saying, "Thanks for catching and tagging this one." --Kinu 22:20, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Prince Popiel

Please take another look at the article for Prince Popiel that you voted "Delete" for on the AfD-- I was able to verify that it is at least a traditional Polish legend about an early ruler in that region. Crypticfirefly 07:45, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

  • No wonder I didn't find anything, I was Googling it the Ron Popeil way... spelling it ei instead of ie! Silly me. :) Thanks for the note, and for cleaning up the article as well... and I've changed my vote to reflect that. --Kinu 08:05, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
    • No problem, thanks for reconsidering. Crypticfirefly 08:43, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

AfD ettiquette

In general it is considered bad ettiquette to strike through other users posts as you have done here and here and possibly elsewhere that I haven't caught. Feel free to post responses to their comments as you have done but leave it to them to strike them out as they feel fit. Savidan 06:27, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Ah, sorry about that... per the discussion, they were admitted to be falsely signed comments (i.e., those users did not in fact make them), so I thought I'd clean up the page a bit, as I assumed they'd be invalid anyway. If it's proper to rescind those, I'd appreciate it if you'd remove the strikes, and just leave my comments below those so that people are aware of all the shenanigans. Thanks. --Kinu 07:01, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Reconsider Imao Blog Article?

Can I get you to reconsider your vote on the AfD on Imao blog? Per WP:WEB There are more factors to notability than Alexa rank. The article has been edited to include verifiable evidence of notabliity. FlyingSpaceMonkey 17:53, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Looks to be too late... and I would not have changed my vote anyway; while Alexa rank is the only rationale I specifically stated, there are many others stated by other users with which I agree. I support the consensus action taken. --Kinu 18:17, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Robert Stanek

You recently left a comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ruin Mist about articles related to the author Robert Stanek. You may like to know that the page on the man himself is now up for deletion; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Stanek. I avoided merging the two together as I felt that the arguments for deleting the pages on the fiction didn't quite apply to the page on the writer, but thought it best to let you know in case you wanted to participate in this related discussion. Shimgray | talk | 01:44, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

  • I (obviously) chose to abstain, but I support the decision to keep and the rationales given. Thank you for letting me know, though. --Kinu t/c 05:21, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Wow, you tagged that quickly! Shall I apologize? My friend, who wanted a Wikipedia userpage, asked me how to do all of this Wikipedia stuff, and I warned him about categories. He kept making cats that I said would be deleted, but he did it nevertheless. But he does have a point when he says that all Wikipedians can be a part of that category and can't be discriminated against. Эйрон Кинни 05:08, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

A category you recently commented on (Category:Wikipedians that poop) has been listed for deletion. Please see it's discussion here. Thanks, xaosflux Talk/CVU 05:25, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the note, Xaos, and moving it (appropriately) out of speedy and to CfD. --Kinu t/c 05:27, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Don't implicate me with this, Kinu. I told you I warned him, but instead you attack me as well? I had nothing to do with these categories, so please don't try and smear me. P.S. Please respond to my allegations and messages. I don't wish to be ignored. Эйрон Кинни 05:42, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
You caught me as I was typing a response. Anyway, I apologize if you felt that the wording on my comment on the CfD page was construed as a smear. I've appended to it accordingly. --Kinu t/c 05:44, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. I should've made it clear that me and the creator (of the category) do correspond with one another daily. If you should want to address his vandalism directly, you can IM the handle "Jyoder63" on AIM (he also has a MySpace profile, and if you don't notice by his headline, he has an obsession with feces). And if that weren't enough, he has even created a website to stage personal (and often times humorous) attacks against me. Sorry if my previous comments gave you the wrong vibe, too. Эйрон Кинни 05:52, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

You recently voted in the AfD for Lulu Lemon. I'd appreciate it if you would reconsider your "delete" for advertising vote and not meeting WP:CORP. I've added some recent information to the article and removed more of the "advertising". Would you revisit the article, as well as the comments that I made a number of entries below your vote. Thanks so much for your consideration. —ERcheck @ 23:44, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Awesome... thanks for the rewrite and the references. It helps to have the correct name of the company too. :) Definitely seems to meet WP:CORP now, so I've changed my vote to keep. Thanks again! --Kinu t/c 02:16, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks re-visiting. I'd never heard of the company before seeing the AfD - seemed to meet notability after a little research. Thanks. —ERcheck @ 02:43, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

hi, I made a contribution to the debate over the above topic. I'd like you to review my comment and see if you might be willing to change your mind about the vote? (link )---J.Smith 07:51, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Univ. Nevada, Reno Page

Kinu, thanks for helping to maintain the Nevada, Reno homepage, but, next time, could you please leave a reason for a deletion, etc.? I think yours was valid, but I had to go and search for what might have been the reason. Thanks, in advance. Madmaxmarchhare 18:10, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Carrillo Dining Commons

I've corrected my vote closure and deleted the article. My apologies. However, I would have appreciated it if you had notified me when you list this article to WP:DRV. I would have liked to get on this case before I see so many pileon votes criticising my actions before I have a chance to either explain my actions or correct my mistake. I guess Wikipedia:Undeletion policy is a little unclear, but it does ask that you speak with the administrator first, and only list an article on DRV if you cannot persuade the administrator to undo his vote closure. I assure you that if you had asked me nicely, I would have corrected my mistake. Instead, I go to WP:DRV to have a look at the discussion there, and accidentally stumble on a section criticising my actions without any chance for me to read it first. I suppose I should say at the outset that I'm feeling pretty bummed out now (though no so bummed out that I couldn't finish off the last few AfDs for Feb 19), so I should also apologise if my message seems a little strong, but really, if you had just asked me to review my vote closure first, I would have seen the mistake, deleted the article, and there would have been no need to have several people point out that I made a mistake and completely ignored consensus. Thank you, --Deathphoenix 21:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

  • I wholeheartedly apologize if I did anything out of process, for the oversight in not contacting you (both before and after listing this), and for the undeserved criticism you've gotten for this... I've never sent anything to DRV before (one could say I am a "n00b" in that regard), so I wasn't too familiar with the policy of contacting you first to see what the situation was, until I reread it a couple of times just now. I can understand the tone of your message, and again, I know that the decision was an accidental oversight, and that it wasn't malicious in any way, shape, or form, and I definitely did not intend for this to turn into a chorus of berating your decision. I will undoubtedly keep this in mind for the future, and again, I apologize if I have or if anyone else has offended you by sending this to DRV. I do appreciate you reconsidering the matter, so thank you. --Kinu t/c 23:10, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
    • No problems. When I look at it further, it really doesn't clearly state it anymore. It used to, but maybe it's time to look into explicitly stating that the vote closer needs to be contacted once more. Don't worry, no harm done, I probably shouldn't have been that sensitive in the first place. Cheers, Deathphoenix 04:33, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

my israel actions page

my israel actions page, are you try to delete it, within minutes of me starting it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidrosenberg (talkcontribs)

  • Yes. It is a blatant violation of WP:NPOV. It has also already been deleted once; see WP:CSD (G4) to see why it can be automatically deleted again. --Kinu t/c 09:04, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
    • NPOV? but with in seconds of me putting it on still adding more contend it was deleted. articles are not magically created. it takes a few minutes to a few days to add more. its not in violation of NPOV when the user is still uploading content and creating it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidrosenberg (talkcontribs)
      • Contrary to what you say, I saw it as a POV violation: the very first sentence said something about "actions that are deemed unethical," and the content itself seemed like a blatant POV fork of or soapbox about the articles that already exist on the conflict. How that can be neutral, I don't know, and I tagged it as {{prod}} to send to Wikipedia:Proposed deletion, which would have given you five days to contest it and rectify any situation. However, after doing so, I checked the deletion log, and noticed that it had already been speedily deleted once before, which makes it a candidate to speedily delete again per WP:CSD criterion G4. I do not know why the page was speedily deleted the first time, but it is likely that it was seen as WP:CSD criterion G3, vandalism, which is not unheard of for POV forks as such. I have no say over the actual deletion itself, as I am not an administrator; I was simply monitoring recent changes and took appropriate action which was within the bounds of being a Wikipedian. If you have issues with the deletion itself, please discuss it with the administrator who deleted it both times on his talk page, or at WP:DRV, as I am in no position to provide any assistance beyond explanation of my own personal actions. --Kinu t/c 02:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi. A couple weeks ago, you voted in a discussion at WP:AFD involving the deletion of the article on Sean Ripple, from The American Analog Set. This is a courtesy note to let you know that I've listed this article at WP:DRV for deletion review. Whether you voted to keep or delete, I invite your input at the DRV discussion[1]. Thanks! :)

  • Wow, I hadn't even thought about the Michigan connection... that's pretty amazing! But you don't have to thank me... the "keep" voters are doing a good enough job of making everyone laugh, I'm sure. :) --Kinu t/c 19:17, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion on BASICALLY BRIAN

Hi Kinu, I basically agree on your opinion about the speedy deletion of BASICALLY BRIAN; however, I was not entirely sure that there was absolutely no claim of notability in the article (although I was sure that they were not notable enough), which is the reason why I listed the article on AfD instead. Now that the discussion is happening at the AfD, I think it may be a good idea to let finish, and wait for the deletion to happen (which is almost certain), rather than go through speedy deletion. What do you think ? Best, Schutz 17:46, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I can see how there is some weak assertion of notability, but at the same time, I don't see anything to convince me that this meets WP:BIO. Given that, in two days, two other editors besides have endorsed speedy, and the only keep votes have come from apparent socks, this could legitimately go as a speedy, or at the least probably be deleted the old-fashioned way per WP:SNOW (and you seem to agree that deletion is almost certain as well). It's your call! :) --Kinu t/c 17:58, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Indeed, I agree with you, and the outcome is almost certain, but I'd rather leave it to the admin closing the AfD to delete the article, so as not to confuse things. It is just a detail, really. Schutz 18:41, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Solved by MarkSweep who closed the AfD and deleted the article... Schutz 20:20, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
There you have it. :) Glad it's gone. --Kinu t/c 08:20, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Melanie schurr

After your "prod" tag was removed by Monicasdude, I added the article to AfD (suggesting "userfy and delete") and shamelessly appropriated your justification (with attribution, at least). In any case, I thought you'd like to know that the page's AfD entry is here. Cordially, Joe 06:42, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

And, I suppose, I should thank you for your sundry AfD votes, with which I generally agree and for the humor and sanity of which I am typically thankful. Joe 06:45, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Wow, Monicasdude removed the PROD without a tirade? Impressive! No problem in using my PROD description (I think it's licensed under GFDL, *lol*), and thank you for the kind words as well. --Kinu t/c 06:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

ResearchID

While it is true that this site doesn't (yet) meet WP:WEB, the same can be said for a great many others which have not been nominated for deletion. Wikipedia has a page on the similar CreationWiki, nothing in the article of which justifies it under WP:WEB. ResearchID will likely become a hotbed of ID/Evolution debate, and needless to say this is a very significant issue at the moment. The only tangible difference in notability between ResearchID and CreationWiki is that the former is very new. I'm going to remove the deletion notice but I'd encourage you, if you wish, to replace it with an AFD, the result of which I'll be happy with, either way. Even if the page is not significant enough now, it will (unfortunately) be so within a couple of months. Ramanpotential 07:05, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

My nominations

You are free to have your own opinion about my deletion nominations, but no personal attacks. Alethiophile 19:44, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

  • What part of my statements [2][3] do you consider a personal attack? Saying that I am assuming good faith and providing valid reasons for my votes surely don't count. I also doubt anyone else sees them as such. Feel free to provide examples which violate WP:CIVIL, assuming you can find any. --Kinu t/c 19:45, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

"Hitler" group

Well since i saw other countries like Australia have neo-nazi groups Singapore seems to have one as it was in the newspaper..here's the source http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,4136,90543,00.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ceecookie (talkcontribs)

  • Regardless, I consider the article itself a non-notable bio with no assertion of notability, but if someone else objects, that's their prerogative. At any rate, I'd hardly consider them a "Neo-Nazi group"... it's a bunch of kids who picked a particular name for their group and happened to get mentioned in the paper, and I will nominate this for deletion if it survives the speedy process. Thanks for your message. --Kinu t/c 09:01, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Hello, could you please reconsider your vote for the Team Russ article to be deleted. The Team is quickly developing and has a fixture with a university team. I would also like to know your definition of a 'notable dodgeball team'. Thank you for your time. Wright123 20:13, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Apologies for the belated response. For what it's worth, while I do tend to respond to notices on my talk page, I have no obligation to do so, and to consider my deletion recommendation invalid for that reason is a somewhat glib assessment. I believe the reasons I have provided, as well as the explanation by No Guru, in the AfD are adequate. I support the article's deletion as conducted. --Kinu t/c 07:49, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Kalendar Koffee House

Deleting Kalendar from the coffee house category is wrong. To claim that Kalendar is advertising is also incorrect. The Kalendar article lists date of opening and location with interior photo. The so called "vanity" aspects have been removed from the article. Kalendar may not be as "noteable" as the larger chains, but that should not preclude it from listing in the coffee house category. To call this article spam would be to call all listings in this category spam. The previous AFD article was edited down to be considered for inclusion - tis all. No harm intended.-- Elyja

This on the other hand is the opening paragraphs of the Starbucks listing. I imagine that all listings in this category are similar to this. [removed]

  • Actually, if something is not notable, it is a pretty good reason to delete it; see WP:N and WP:ENC. The comparison to Starbucks is irrelevant, as that company clearly meets an inclusion standard, WP:CORP, based on the second word of its article (NASDAQ). Also, if there are other non-notable coffee houses with articles, instead of those being a reason to keep this article, consideration must be made as to whether those should be deleted as well (i.e, "two wrongs don't make a right"). I'd suggest having any further discussion on this matter on the AfD page; adding the same message to multiple user talk pages is somewhat frowned upon, as any relevant information should be placed there to reach all involved parties. Thanks. --Kinu t/c 04:11, 1 April 2006 (UTC) (Cross-posted to AfD page.)
    • The AfD discussion is on my watchlist; please don't cross-post there and here, as requested above. --Kinu t/c 04:47, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download

Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. Hi. I notice that you have previously voted or commented on the proposal to delete the List of Statutory Instruments of the United Kingdom, 1996 page. The debate about the delete proposal ended with no consensus. This is just to let you know that I have started a discussion on how to go forward from here. I am currently trying to define what the problems with the page are so that we can try to find a fix for them that stops short of outright deletion. If you wish to take part in the discussion, the new debate can be found here. Thank you. Road Wizard 23:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Year pronunciation

I saw your vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Year pronunciation. Please note that the nominator is an Afd vandal. Georgia guy 16:19, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

And another thing; I added the "aught" pronunciation that you mentioned in your vote to the table in the article. Georgia guy 16:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

I added a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gerald Vernon-Jackson.

Comment. The next point in WP:BIO is "Major local political figures who receive (or received) significant press coverage". I think that Gerald Vernon-Jackson qualifies on this point, since the local newspapers pay attention to him.

  • Thanks for the note. I'll check it out and see if it does anything to sway my recommendation... if so, you'll see it on the AfD itself. --Kinu t/c 04:44, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

BITE

You are a perfect example of a user who bites newcomers. You did not avoid intensifiers in commentary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zinco100 (talkcontribs)

Who are you to tell Kinu about WP:BITE? You register an account and vote on something, make a personal attack on my user page, nominate for deletion an article simply because it is created by someone who votes differently to you on an issue, then scold someone for not following a policy which you most likely are only aware of since I pointed it out for you. Kinu is not biting the newcomers - newcomers make mistakes, not blatant violations of policy, and they certainly don't make personal attacks. Editing a template and breaking it when it is used on thousands of pages is a mistake, retaliating against those who disagree with you is not. There is no question of WP:BITE here in my opinion, because I do not feel you fall under the definition of 'newcomer' (as adopted by WP:BITE) anymore. --Draicone (talk) 00:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Also, please add four tilde's (~~~~) to the end of your comments, it shows people who has contributed what to a discussion and helps clarify. You can quickly do it by clicking the signature button in the toolbar. (That's WP:BITE.) --Draicone (talk) 00:59, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi dude

I'm going to have a bash at really beefing up the article that ya just {prod}ed.

Obviously, I've made 3 contributions today. One of them was to create the article, so I'm not sure that even counts as an edit.

Basically, would you throw a screaming hissy fit were I to remove it? If it's real important to ya, I could beef it up over a couple of days, then remove it.

How do ya feel about that dude? --Tess Tickle 04:40, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

  • No problem... I just thought that in its current state, it didn't seem like a notable enough website. But I've got no problem with you deprodding it and having a crack at fixing it up. And while I can promise I won't list it at AfD anytime soon, I can't guarantee that anyone else won't... I think there's a "in progress" tag or something like that so I'd slap that on if I were you. Thanks for dropping in! --Kinu t/c 04:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Awesome dude. I just had my Treewalk DNS article deleted. Two in two hours would be way too much to handle. I'll have a look about for the tag, thanks dude.--Tess Tickle 04:46, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

  • My response here. --Kinu t/c 03:09, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I understand... more.. now.. but i dont know what you mean by citing reliable resources... My dad tought me how to play 8 ball pool a few years ago, and, bored, i made a game using what was available... sorry.. this is all very overwhelming i dont know what im supposed to do..

I understand a little better now, sorry to bother you, I hope it gets bigger someday. thanks for the help.

Kinu, can you explain why this page is better then mine?

  • It's not. Thanks for pointing it out... I've tagged it for the deletion process as well. --Kinu t/c 18:01, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh... okay. ill leave you alone now. ~Blake D. Hawkins 19:54, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Dude Walker

Kinu, bio clarifications were supplied to distinguish between two entities with the same name with respective accomplishment within their fields. Once again, more as a reference tool than anything else. Ultimately the decision is in your hands.

  • The proper method to distinguish between two people is not to add to an existing article. The established way can be seen at WP:DISAMBIG, but only if both individuals seem to meet WP:BIO, does not read like WP:VANITY, and most importantly adhere to WP:V. Also, I have no final say in the deletion of your article... that's why I nominated it for AfD, which is a consensus-driven conclusion. Thanks for writing, and if there's anything else, I'll address it at the appropriate AfD page. --Kinu t/c 16:45, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Oyster link

Hi Kinu,

Did I put the Oyster link in the wrong place, or was it removed for another reason?

Kinu,

I noticed that you marked the Jean-Pascal Beintus article as violating copyright regulations and plagiarising content from beintus.com. I am the administrator of the site and wrote the article as well as all content on beintus.com. I have took all the necessary steps to permit the use of the material, including placing a tag in the site source, sending an email to wikipedia, and leaving a comment on the talk page. This was several days ago. It is important to M. Beintus that the original article is retained and the copyright violation tag removed. As the user who put the tag there in the first place, can you please remove it and bring back the old article (including text and photo), or at least give me a timeframe as to when the page will be online again?

Many thanks, Kevin Walker (sorry about the whole Wolftime thing :)

  • I have no say in this matter, since I can't make a final decision. I would place a note at the copyright violations page so the administrators who handle these problems have this information at hand. However, my suggestion would probably be to place a note on the Beintus site itself, in the copyright notice, indicating that permission is granted to redistribute its contents under the GFDL. Right now it just has a copyright, and without any indication like that, Wikipedia will assume it is a copyright violation. Hope this helps... --Kinu t/c 13:58, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Pjh111

Thanks for cleaning up the mess I accidentally made there trying to warn this user about the problems I discovered with images he uploaded. I see now what I did wrong, so I won't make that mistake twice. Erechtheus 22:44, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

  • No problem... it took me a while to figure out that trick myself, actually, but once you know it, it's pretty useful. ;) --Kinu t/c 04:45, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Just for the record, user:Pjh111 is a sockpuppet account of previously indef-blocked user:Pjh1810/user:Ryanlong, who recently vandalized your userpage. I've blocked this "new" account as well, although it is actually not new, but only recently active again. Category:Wikipedia Suspected sock puppets of Frys104 has a fuller list of these sock accounts. This vandal tends to add copyvio to pages, then if anyone tags those pages, he'll tag the user's page with a similar tag. Notice your page was tagged by user:Ryanlong soon after you left a copyvio notice for user:Pjh111. Anyway, thanks for catching the copyvio. :) Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 10:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

I was going to slap a copyvio tag on the Dr. Bill Wilson article (the tribute was from a university website) when I saw the redirect and other issues. I just thought it looked odd to have the professor's bio there because it's such a common name, and I knew at the very least there should have been a dab to AA founder Bill W. Need help

Hi Kinu,

Thanks for the changes you made on my page, I'm new at this so am a little lost. I need some help now... my pictures on Joe Schwarcz and Ariel Fenster's pages got deleted the day after I put them up. Why? I took the pictures myself so there is no copyright issue... Thanks for your help! −−Melodyko 20:49, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Melody
