There really should be an independent article on this important subject and not just a re-direct to Gravitational lens. Could an outline be:

• A quick outline
• Short introduction to the mathematics (the Paczynski curve)
• Deviations from the Paczynski curve: Parallax/xallarap, finite source effects, binary lens/source.
• What can it be used for - and by whom:
  • OGLE
  • MicroFUN
  • MOA
  • MACHO
  • PLANET
  • EROS (although they don't exist anymore)
