  • Delete: Yet again, a well intended copy & paste. We're not a teaching site, so the how-to of this is misapplied. Perhaps this could be transwiki'd to Wikibooks? It might be of use there, if it is unencumbered. Geogre 03:59, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • I suspect this is just original research and not a copyvio, as the article states it was written by a Kathryn Angle, and the author of the article is named User:Kat 7.   • Delete. The fact that the bibliography is 5 times longer than the article makes me think its original research. I doubt there's much salvageable here; anything useful can be included in another one of the geography articles.   • KEEP- My name is Kathryn Angle and I am the user Kat_7. i had to do this for an assignment for my computer class- computers in education at Ryerson University. This is my first time using this site and i was following the instructions and outline of the assignment from my professor. i understand this is not an education site but im informing people on how geography can be used in education, more so with young children. if any of you actually looked at the annotated bibliography you would have realised that it isnt a list of references but a list of sites which can be used for ideas for lesson plans, there are usefull articles etc. im trying to get the point across that geography is an important part of the education process. in one of the articles in my bib. states that there are children in the US who have no idea where the United States is on a map. this is very pathetic and this is why this topic struck me as important. im just asking to have the page reinstated the way i had it until the 26th of December. i get my marks then for this class and afterwards you can delete it with no problems from me. i just need this page up and running until then so my prof. can take a look at it. I'm sure we're all avid lovers of the English language, but the perfunctory correlation of veracity with linguistic deftness, and its ostensibly extrapolated typographical infallibility has as of yet to exhibit the resounding verisimilitude its proponents seem to advocate.   • Keep if modified. Agreed, wikipedia is not a place for class assignments. The student is misinformed. Thought the assignment is to find a topic that is not addressed in wikipedia, identify a best practices model for a wikipedia entry, follow that model, and produce something useful. Not just dump in an annotated bibliography. I'm the one who gave the assignment, and I think that that's within the boundary of wikipedia and general encyclopedia's mandate. The student gets no marks for putting content here. They have to produce a wikipedia like entry on another media wiki install, with the option of moving it here... for karma points. This, like all topics related to early childhood education are woefully under represented here. And I think that wikipedia as a whole would be better served by leaving it here, and pushing for improvements, than deleting it.   • Rename to Geography (education) and keep. We need an article on the teaching of Geography, in addition to the subject itself.     • I don't see any personal attacks here. The criticism has been directed at the article, with some side commentary on the general state of the US educational system. In the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study results released this week, the US ranked only 24th out of 29, beaten by every country in Europe, for starters... absolutely dismal.
