This should be at "Timeline of cricket", no? Noel (talk) 21:38, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. I checked the cricket category for comfirmation, and it should be so. :) Squash 22:33, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Date format[edit]

This article should use wikified dates, that localise themselves to each user's preferred date format. Sorry, I haven't got time to convert them now. Stephen Turner 08:17, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Doosra Joke[edit]

In the 2000s secton, it says that 2004 - "The Doosra (Off-Spinners leg-break) of Muttiah Muralitharan is banned. Which was later reinstated at a later in that year. This was due to a study that stated that 99% of bowlers (except for Ramnaresh Sarwan) throw the ball."

The first part is obviously clear but is the Ramnaresh Sarwan part a joke? 'DaGizza 08:15, 4 October 2005 (UTC) [reply]

It's not part of a joke. I think it's referring to studies undertaken during the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy in England. 99% is too high, as only a handful of bowlers (both regular and irregular) were tested - but it was found that the overwhelming majority had some deliveries outside the then tolerance levels. The section does either need to be removed from the article or replaced with an accurate version of what happened, jguk 11:35, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Waste of Space[edit]

I think this article should be removed. It is not being developed, it contains numerous errors and it has been overtaken by the large number of more detailed and accurate historical articles we now have. Given its scope, which is far too ambitious, I cannot see anyone wanting to spend any time on it at all. I've proposed its deletion. --Jack 12:07, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
