Hewitts Are there really the same number of Hewitts as Marilyns (178) in England? Linuxlad

According to my sources, yes. Grinner 08:47, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)

Need new silly word[edit]

Since the Brits like to claim they are metric, they shouldn't be using an acronym based on "two thousand feet:—it is time for them to invent a new silly word for hills greater than 600 meters. Gene Nygaard 16:08, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Heh. Where there is still latitude to make a choice without risk of prosecution from Brussels, we still chose imperial :). Pcb21| Pete 10:15, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
New British hill lists still use imperial as far as is practical so as to fit into the existing structure of Munros, Corbetts and the like. Besides which, 'Hewitt' sounds better than 'Hewish' :-). Blisco 10:08, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of Hewitts?[edit]

Does anyone know of a link for a list of Hewitts? I Googled for some but the links seem to be incomplete or dead. Shantavira 13:44, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

TACit Press gives the full lists from the original source. Grinner 17:15, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
