You don't have to put your signature on the page of the article itself. The system places it automatically in the "history" section of the article, and also in the "Recent changes" pages and also in the "New pages" pages (look under "special pages") so that it is really easy to know the identity of the editor involved. The only place where it is convenient to place your signature is in talk pages such as this one. --AlainV 01:57, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
