I just came across Shomrim. Right now it doesn't define the term, so reading it I have no idea what the term means. You should try to expand it :). Thue | talk 19:27, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The article seems pretty good now, but it still needs more context. I assume the term is connected to holy jewish teachings; the article needs to say that and how it is connected. Basically, the ideal is that a person such as I who know nothing about Shomrim can place it in context just by reading the article and following the links in the article.

Also, you should sign comments you leave on talk pages with "~~~~".

New articles[edit]

Zavuza, I've noticed you're creating articles with titles in leshon ha-kodesh. This is acceptable only of no parallel English term is available. Shomer and shomrim are not really acceptable, as there are perfect English alternatives for these terms. Additionally, it will be easier to compare civil law precedents with halakha if comparable terminology is used.

I'm also listing Maseches Brachos Perek Dales for deletion. This is a primary source text. Wikibooks would be the ideal location for such a project. Wikibooks Mishnah[edit]

Hi Zavuza! The Mishnah project is currently at Wikibooks; the index page is "Mishnah." The best way to see an example of how to do it is to take one of the mishnayot that has already been done and click "edit." That gives you ready-made code you can copy for another mishnah for organization, links ("previous Mishnah", "next mishnah", etc.). To my mind, a new translation of a mishnah is enough; you don't have to add introductions, commentary, etc. unless you have the time and energy for it (but if you do - fantastic!). Don't copy any published translations/commentaries; do the work yourself. If you are not sure about what something means - ask on the talk page and maybe someone else can help explain it.

I thought Mishnah was probably too ambitious a project, so gemara - kal vochomer! But if you want to add sections of the gemara - fantastic! The only thing I think you should be very careful about from the beginning is filenames: How should these be listed? My first inclination is by the amud/daf (perek is extremely long). How about "Berakhot 26a" as the page title for the text you already started? Dovi 10:00, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
