Uploading pictures[edit]

What would be the rules for uploading a picture for this game? I can load a ROM and take a screenshot of each boss and a random screenshot of the actual game to help this article mimic the rest of the series' pages. -Kugamazog

Title Change[edit]

This article should be moved to Mega Man 3. Roman Numerals are used to designate the Game Boy games. --Vile Requiem 07:59, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

If we really wanted to disambiguate the GB series we'd use the Japanese titles (Rockman series vs Rockman World series). But it appears that kind of thing is frowned upon here. So I think the title screens, not Mandi Paugh, should have preference, in which case Roman numerals should be used when convenient for 2-7 and Arabic numerals should be always used for 8, the X series, etc. --Boco XLVII 08:07, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
You are absolutely correct about the title screens of the NES series. However, in this case the nomenclature has been determined by history, not any individual person. Gamefaqs, Gamespot, Planet Megaman all use Arabic for the NES series, and in Anniversary Collection, they are referred to in Arabic as well. Much like Lucas and the DVD Star Wars updates, this change appears official. For the Game Boy pages when they are created, there can be a "Mega Man III is also a NES game", but most anyone looking for info nowadays will use 3 imo. --Vile Requiem 20:39, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I agree with the title change as well. The box title and official title are clearly Megaman 3, not III -Kugamazog

Changes to this section[edit]

I put an updated "Story" section into this article to add a bit more to it, a suggested Robot Master order to defeat them in, and then at the end the weapons list that tells what you get from each boss...I added a few misc. things in here as well...If you think anything more/less should be added, feel free to change them! --Yahweh 1 July 2005 02:33 (UTC)

I removed the suggested order of Robot Masters. The article does not need to tell people how to beat the game (that's what GameFAQs [1] is for). Also I feel any suggested order or way is inherently POV. Kjammer 1 July 2005 08:24 (UTC)

Character Cameos[edit]

Mega Man 3 was not the first game to have a character from a previous game to make a cameo. Gutsman from Mega Man (1) returns, albeit in a very different form as a fortress boss in Mega Man 2.

I completely forgot about the Gutsdozer. I guess that line should be taken out then. --Vile Requiem 7 July 2005 19:25 (UTC)

This happens quite frequently in the series, doesn't it? "Guts Man" seems to be the boss that returns a lot Robot Master-wise since I guess the Doc favored him the most, but "boss" wise you also see the Yellow Devil/Green Devil on numerous occassions too! "Guts Man" has appeared in MM2, MM3, and MM7 as well as MM, right? --Yahweh 04:10, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Should this be moved to Mega Man 3?[edit]

That's what's on the box, after all. The NES games use Arabic numerals; the Game Boy games use Roman numerals. It would prevent confusion, that's for sure. StarryEyes 13:42, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
