Discovery Date for this squid[edit]

I just want to check when Grimalditeuthis was discovered. This wikipedia page as I found it says that it was discovered 2005. However, the Tree of Life website contradicts this statement, saying that it was initially discovered in 1910 by Chun, although he called it Doratopsis sagitta. I did not change the date on this page because I am not completely certain if it was discovered in either 1910 or 2005. Can someone please verify this? This is the link to the website: tolweb.org/Grimalditeuthis_bonplandi/19463. Thank you, TheOrangeOctopus (talk) 22:08, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was first observed alive in 2005, the name Grimalditeuthis was created by Louis Joubin in 1898 for a species he called richardi while the species was originally described in 1836 as Loligo bonplandi, Joubin's G. richardi was found to be synonymous with L. bonplandi. Chun's Doratopsis sagitta was described in 1908 but again is now thought to be a synonym of Verany's Loligo bonplandi. Quetzal1964 (talk) 08:22, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
