My position is that surnames are not significant enough to put into encyclopedias. Sure, the people with this surname may be cultural or other type of elite, but so what? Does that mean you have to put every surname into wikipedia? Why dont we see that many entries in the same category? The name is not significant even inside India.

Also, there is a better place to put these sort of caste promotion ... the geneology wiki: http://genealogy.wikicities.com/wiki/Main_Page
