India[edit]

Is India one of the poor countries

Yes the map is outdated. Here's an example of a more updated map: [1].
Actually I can't really tell what India's status is - I'm a bit color blind and have trouble reading BBC's map.
India's not one of them. The color it's highlighted with in the BBC map corresponds to "Countries which debt campaigners wish to see added to the HIPC list." --Delirium 02:57, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)

Statistics[edit]

These countries are called "heavily indebted poor", but I'd like to see statistics indicating their real debt and some measure of their economic status in a standardized currency, perhaps with comparison to the world average. Perhaps this information could be gathered from the CIA World Factbook. I'm also curious as to whether there are any countries that seem like they should be on the list but aren't, and what if any motivation is behind that. Deco 07:36, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Table of debts?[edit]

Is there an article where the debt these countries owe is listed in a sortable format? Chadlupkes (talk) 17:52, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Out of date, eg, Burundi[edit]

The article is not up to date. Burundi is now also a HIPC country for instance: http://www.imf.org/external/np/sec/pr/2009/pr0918.htm 212.27.125.194 (talk) 09:41, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Title (capitalization)[edit]

Should this article be renamed to 'Heavily indebted poor countries', with only the first letter capitalized, as per WP:TITLE? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 13:48, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Regards, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 16:38, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
