I have never seen any evidence that Hitler had access to the atomic bomb, but refused to use it. Operation ALSOS did not find evidence that Germany had the atomic bomb. On the contrary. It is true that Einsteins theories were not welcome in Nazi germany (See also Deutsche Physik). MartinBiely 17:09, Jan 3, 2005 (UTC)

I thought that the (new) article was on the border of absurd, so I replaced the contents with a line refering the reader to the article on Werner Heisenberg, where this topic is discussed (and cited from reasonably reliable sources). Morris 17:14, Jan 3, 2005 (UTC)

How funny to come across this, I was thinking of starting an article on German nuclear energy project (WWII). This ought to redirect there, once there is an article. And no, Hitler didn't have the bomb. No, the Nazi dislike of Einstein had nothing to do with it. It's a more complicated story than that... The Nazis didn't put any investment into the program because they didn't think it could make a weapon in time for use in the war, so Heisenberg and his pals ended up just working to make a reactor (my read of it, aspects are disputed by scholars). They didn't succeed at even making that. --Fastfission 03:31, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)
