'You folks are biased, factually incorrect, and dishonest via omission of key facts in you're mirmydonic summeries of the Democratic and Republican party platforms. Academia strikes again!

I think it's durned funny how the moron above tries to use a 10-dollar word like "mirmydonic" (which is barely even a word) and follows it up by misspelling "summaries". Tee Hee! Academia Nuts are Delicious!

More accuracy, better sensitivity[edit]

"Treasonous faith?" The oath suggests treason, perhaps, but especially in this era, when Mormonism is so radically pro-American, to the extent that Mormons argue the Constitution to be divinely inspired, isn't that a little bit purple, if not wholly inaccurate?

I had been under the impression that Smoot was the first to hold that Senate seat -- but Utah came into the union in 1896. Who preceded him in that seat? Edarrell 20:32, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article states that Smoot was orginally elected to the US Senate. Is this accurate. The 17th amendment didn't come into effect for another decade. I supposed Utah could have had direct elections but since Utah was the only state to reject the amendment this seems extremely unlikely.

Elected by vote of the legislature, presumably... AnonMoos (talk) 20:43, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
