Radio equipment was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep the article.

Seems to be lifted straight from a communications rulebook, and no sensible article could be written at this title with information that wouldn't fit better in radio. Also qualifies as a dicdef for basically using some 50-something words to say "radio equipment: communication equipment operating over radio waves" Chris 01:22, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. So this is equipment, you say, for radio? mendel
  • Keep: "Webster's defines content as the quality of being satisfied." Just kidding. I think this could be expanded. At present, it's a definition, and a dry one, from a US Government source. As it is not copyvio, it can stay and be expanded by the next knowledgeable editor. Geogre 03:05, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • I can't really think of anything that can be said about radio equipment in general that doesn't belong on radio, or about specific types that wouldn't belong on their own articles (Assuming they're useful and widespread enough). Chris 03:12, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Nor I, quite, but I can imagine Hams and others who might have something to say about usual configurations, professional vs. amateur, mobile vs. base station, etc. Again, I couldn't do it, but I can see enough room for it that this article is inoffensive. Geogre 04:57, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep on the rationale suggested by Geogre. Samaritan 17:08, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. GRider 19:28, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Topic is encyclopedic, even if article is not yet up to snuff. All it takes is a good topic to make me say keep, if the article isn't completely nonsense. --Improv 15:19, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, but maybe we should move it to wiktionary. Bart133 21:27, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Redirect to radio until it grows to article of sufficient size. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 22:08, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep it. [[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 05:30, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
