70mm still and cine and 120 film formats...they have a lot in common :-)[edit]

Like most everyone else who contributes to Wiki articles, I am new and finding the learning curve and "user help" aspects of Wikipedia wikidly difficult. I will double-check the height of 120 and 70mm still film.....however, when I worked for IMAX some 20 years ago, the only difference between the 120 and 70mm film formats was the existence, placement, pitch and type of the perforations.

Apologies if I am wrong. I will double-check with colleagues.

No copyright violation[edit]

Imroy-

I'm not a regular wikipedia editor, and am not up on the protocols, but I have not violated any copyrights by posting my own text to the wiki page on Night Photography. I stated in the comments at the end of the section that the poster (Skyephoto) is Lance Keimig, the author of the history of Night Photography text. Focal Press has posted it on their website as you noted, and I am the copyright holder, so there is no reason to undo my edit, especially as it is more thorough than what is there now. Please contact me thru email if you wish to discuss this further. skyephoto@yahoo.com, or lance@thenightskye.com Thanks. Lance Skyephoto (talk) 21:18, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied on your talk page about "donating" your work. --Imroy (talk) 16:39, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ilfochrome and Ilfocolor on Ilford Photo[edit]

Ian, I have read the article on Ilford Photo and note that they are known for the range of Ilfochrome and Ilfocolor. This is not the case, these products are owned and produced by Ilford Imaging Switzerland GmbH. I am new to Wiki and do not wish to edit this at this time as I may have a conflict of interest with this article. Jwd01 (talk) 08:52, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi, Imroy. Thanks for your edit to the Through-the-lens metering article. I moved the section up to conform with MOS:APPENDIX, which you may wish to look at to see the order generally used for sections. I see you are into photography. That's great! I'm just getting into it myself. I've been playing around with flash photography lately. See you around. Jason Quinn (talk) 04:01, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

70mm[edit]

Dear, Imroy. Thanks for editing Hasselblad article. Could you please elaborate on why you decided to split 70mm (and other mm units) with the space between 70 and mm? No space is a widely accepted specification for the lens. You can see "no space" specification on Hasselblad web-site, on Canon web-site, on Nikon web-site, etc. diser (talk)

The Wikipedia Manual of Style says that values and unit symbols are separated by a non-breaking space. It's also a part of the SI standard. I wouldn't place much weight on the formatting of vendor web sites, that's mostly marketing. --Imroy (talk) 15:37, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting information, thanks. Sorry for reverting your edit before waiting for the answer diser (talk) 19:50, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for February 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tegra, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page LTE (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). KB might be enough[edit]

Hi, I thanked you for: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bobcat_%28microarchitecture%29&diff=570034719&oldid=570018664 I like what you did besides KB->KiB. I don't think I will not change that part back though (maybe I should). KiB = KB in my view. And not = kB. You decide if you change that back. comp.arch (talk) 15:20, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hasselblad[edit]

Founded in 1841, while Victor Hasselblad was born in 1906? Are that many anonymous edits vandalism that a simple error correction gets reversed? Next time I will take the time and logon :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.167.80.88 (talk) 21:17, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The source (http://www.hasselblad.com/about-hasselblad/history/) explains that it started as a family business. Victor was the son of the founder and he started a photographic division of the company. --Imroy (talk) 09:59, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Memory citation required in ESP8266 article[edit]

Dear @Imroy:

I have founded several unclear information in part Feature in your ESP8266 article. I have checked 3 official documents from Espressif (ESP8266EX datasheet, ESP8266 Technical Reference Version 1.7 and ESP8266 Hardware Design Guidelines), and I don't found any reference for those memory information in the Features part:

Memory:

  • 32 KiB instruction RAM
  • 32 KiB instruction cache RAM
  • 80 KiB user-data RAM
  • 16 KiB ETS system-data RAM

In ESP8266EX datasheet, in 3.1.2. Memory part:

SRAM space available to users is assigned as below:

• RAM size < 50 kB, that is, when ESP8266EX is working under the Station mode and connects to the router, the maximum programmable space accessible in Heap + Data section is around 50 kB.

So I found no information related to the memory information stated in the Wikipedia article. @Imroy: please help me confirm those information.
