Wikipedia:Ten commandments

And the benevolent dictator of Wikipedia spake all these words, saying:

  1. "Thou shalt have no other wikis before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any incompatible forks, or any copyvio of any thing that is on the internet above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
  2. Thou shalt not take the dump of the Wikipedia without displaying a CC BY-SA notice, for the Wikimedia Foundation will not hold him (or her) guiltless that does not comply.
  3. Remember the wikibreak to keep it holy; other days where thou hast no wikistress shall thou labour, and do all thy edits; but the wikibreak is important to the Wikipedia: in it thou shalt not do any edits, on thy home computer, nor thy work computer, nor thy laptop or PDA, nor by thy IP account, nor by any of thy sockpuppets, for on those other days the other editors made heaven and earth, the sea, Allpages, and the horse carcass, and rested on their wikibreaks.
  4. Honour thy admins and thy bureaucrats, that thy days may be long upon the wiki.
  5. Thou shalt not vandalise.
  6. Thou shalt not commit NPOV violations.
  7. Thou shalt not leave thy comments on talk pages unsigned.
  8. Thou shalt use the dispute resolution process with thy neighbour.
  9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's editcount, nor his hats, nor his reversions, nor his talk page watchers, nor his stick, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
  10. Thou shalt ignore all my commandments."
