Hello Chwe and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

Architecture[edit]

Hi, Welcome to wikipedia!

I see that you have almost entirely changed the Architecture (built environment) page. I would like to point out that wikipedia is a colloborative effort and making such a major change without discussion may rise heated discussion. Especially when there is someone who has put in lots of effort into the page and almost written the whole page- meaning me:-)The changes you have made largely make it an architectural history page whereas the architecture introduction page should look at history, theory, philosophy, whatever. I think that your edits might be more suitable in the Architectural history page. It is now just a list of pages. Why don't you have a look at it. And if you want to change the intro page in a drastic way, please discuss in the talk page. Also if the edits are done one step at time, it is easier to trace or resolve any differences of opinion.(If you see the comments on the talk page they have been entirely laudatory- well, almost)

In any case, the page has been moved by someone else to the main Architecture page(which is a good idea, and which was how it was originally). It seems by looking at your edits that you have realised this and have started on the main page. I hope you see my point of view and refrain from editing the page without discussion. Architecture on Main Page[edit]

Looks like your request was acted on quite quickly. -- Solipsist 23:51, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Architecture[edit]

Having written the page almost entirely myself, I don't quite agree. I think it covers everything- history, theory, culture, aesthetics, technology, etc., I am afraid that if I get involved in a discussion with you on the page, it will take so much of my effort in arriving at a consensus. As I have sort of detached myself from wikipedia, it wouldn't be fair on my point to stop you from proceeding. So go ahead and make any changes you want. Best wishes. KRS 14:19, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ando.watertemple.awajishima.japan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 01:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
