Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clark Democrats

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clark Democrats was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was DELETE

This page was originally listed at copyright problems because it's directly taken from a blog at forclark.com. At that time it was put there by an anon which later turned out to be Roseba (contribs), she herself is part of this movement called clark democrats and was involved in writing those 10 commandments. I've been having a discussion with her on my talk page about this whole issue which is an informative read.

She claims it to be an active and growing movement of thousands of individuals, citing this google search, however thats a search for clark+democrat which would turn up alot of false positives, this search of mine for "clark democrat" OR "clark democrats" should be a little more accurate with raughtly 6,530 hits.

In any case, the article reads more like a clark advertising booklet than an enyclopedia article, and really doesnt describe the phenomena, however not living in the US i dont really know if this is a valid topic that we should have an article on — and thats why it's here. -- Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 22:36, 2004 Jul 20 (UTC)

  • Keep. A search for "Wes Clark Democrats" turns up an official website (which I've added to the article) and a Yahoo! Newsgroup. Seems legit (even though I've never heard of it). (And no I'm not Wes Clark.) --Wclark 22:59, 2004 Jul 20 (UTC)
  • cleanup or delete, currently very unenyclopedic. It's not even obvious which Clark is meant, especially to non-USians. Ianb 23:43, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete until this movement can get more than one Google News hit. - SimonP 00:55, Jul 21, 2004 (UTC)
  • I'm thinking this is neologistic at best, POV at worst. I've never heard the term at all. Delete. - Lucky 6.9 01:41, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Wikipedia is not a soapbox, or a mirror. Bacchiad 02:56, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Not a substantial 3rd party or subparty force at present and likely to vanish quickly. Geogre 14:11, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Reads like an infomercial and in need of POV work. That is already mentioned in the entry. Even if the movement vanishes quicky, it may be of historical interest to students of American political history, or the history of minor American political movements. • Delete - not really an article. -- Cyrius| 05:24, 23 Jul 2004 (UTC)
