NPOV?

The discussion of alternatives and criticisms belongs in the entires on particular aretaic theories, e.g. in Virtue ethics, etc. User:lsoum. 14 Aug 2003 (UTC)

It seems very closely related to the issue of a moral code versus a moral core. In fact that may be an example of such a turn. See also simple view of ethics and morals which makes some claim that ethos and mores have changed places, and, despite the linguistic history, become our modern morals and ethics respectively. EofT

Merge?

Is this article usefully enough separated from virtue ethics to justify a separate article? It looks to me that from the point of view of coverage, aretaic turn and contemporary virtue ethics are synonyms. --- Charles Stewart 00:09, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Merge. While the use of a particular "term" may be helpful in distinguishing a contemporary move in ethics, the "aretaic turn" belongs as a subsection of Virtue Ethics, specifically as it's contemporary form.
