I'm not sure what " These young artists must follow Jennings' prove their merits " is supposed to say. If I did then I'd fix it! --Ian 14:28, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Jennings is pretty good, but this reads like a press release. Could use some clean up for POV and cites.Airproofing (talk) 21:39, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I did some clean up to try make it more NPOV and focus on Jennings more.Airproofing (talk) 14:20, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Full disclosure: I run the Bird Wings Beat fansite.) I just reverted the previous edit to re-insert the external links to Bird Wings Beat and Archive.org. While BWB, as a fansite, is technically in violation of #11 of WP:LINKSTOAVOID, it provides unique content not available from the official sites (specifically, lyrics and tabs). There is no advertising, copyright-violating content, or otherwise shadiness about the site. If further editors determine this is still inappropriate, please remove the link, but I feel it is a valuable external link. As for Archive.org, the edit accused it of "copyright violation", but all the downloads available are legal audience recordings, not copyrighted tracks. Removed this " A little more than a week after The Mason Jennings Band was formed, it was asked to fill in for the Jayhawks, who had a standing Thursday night gig but were moving on to record for American Records. " I was around at the time, the Jayhawks were not playing the 400 Bar, they were on tour for sound of lies. The Mason Jennings band stint started somewhere in November or December of 1998. There was no need for the Jayhawks to play 400 Bar as they could fill First Avenue at a moments notice. There was something where it's possible Mason was filling in for a four week gig by some side project of Dave Pirner's called "Oh Geez" that had Jessy Greene. But it maybe that "Oh Geez" didn't play because Greene was on tour with members of the Jayhawks in Golden Smog at the time. But honestly, unless someone can find attribution for this, it shouldn't go back in. The wording makes it all wrong too, where it sounds like the Jayhawks just got signed to American at that point, when they'd been recording for American for at least 6 years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.118.202.44 (talk) 19:35, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
