Manchester Airport[edit]

The computer I'm using is a public access computer so many people use it and some of them may also use Wikipedia. I'm not hstudent, SheliaV or anything else! I did register on Wikipedia but I never got a confirmation email and when I try to register again it says I'm already registered.

Much information in the Manchester Airport article is not common knowledge. Hence, it needs a lot more references, which is why I added fact tags. Please only remove fact tags if you replace them with a reference, or it is very common knowledge such as Manchester Airport is in England. 217.37.120.25 (talk) 08:49, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just made a proposal in Talk:Ken_Kutaragi and I'm advising you. Thanks. --Brazil4Linux 22:46, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm requesting your opnion about this dispute. Lot of POV-Pushing, the article is currently blocked. --GroundZero 21:03, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Untagged image[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:City of Manchester Coat of Arms.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 01:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:City of Manchester Coat of Arms.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:City of Manchester Coat of Arms.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:58, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Uec-logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Uec-logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:29, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GM listed buildings[edit]

Hi, I'm letting you know that I reverted the latest changes you made to the Grade I and Grade II* lists of Greater Manchester's listed buildings. St Michael's is in fact Grade I, but I fear that this isn't your mistake but an extension of one of mine. A couple of months ago I carelessly forgot that there are two St Michael's et al churches in Tameside and that one was Grade I and the other II*. I mistakenly changed some articles relating to Church of St Michael and All Angels; I thought I'd reverted all my changes, but it looks like you found one I'd missed. So, er, well done on finding my mistake :P Happy editing and sorry for wasting your time. Nev1 (talk) 23:30, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

rolex spam[edit]

Dear AnIco. Could you look please at the Rolex? I think, the most important in "rolex" is that it is one of leaders of email spam, while the article describes only such unimportant thing as the fetish-watches; the article looks as adverticement of the company. I should greatly appreciate an independent point of view. dima (talk) 00:12, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AnIco, and welcome to Wikiproject Greater Manchester! Thank you for your generous offer to help contribute. I'm sure your input will be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy contributing here and being a Greater Manchester Project Wikipedian!

As a project we aim to have all our articles compliant with the various editing policies and guidelines. If you are contributing an article, it is good practice to ensure that it’s properly referenced with reliable sources, otherwise any contentious content may be removed by another editor. A good starting point for articles about settlements in Greater Manchester is the WP:UKCITIES guideline.

If you have any questions, feel free to discuss anything on the project talk page, or to leave a message on my own talk page. Please remember to sign all your comments, and be bold with your ideas. Again, welcome, and happy editing!

thanx for creating the template "achitecture in england"[edit]

hi Anclon,

since I have edited the categories about english architecture (as you can see f.e. at Norman architecture in England) I just want to thank you for the template. It is possible to do it by myself in future as an ordinary mortal user of wikimedia? --Kurpfalzbilder.de (talk) 21:23, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
