Welcome to Wikipedia, the greatest encyclopedia on Earth! You seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! You may wish to review the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, as well as the avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages. The Wikipedia directory is also quite useful. In addition, you might want to add yourself to the new user log; if you made any edits before getting an account, you may wish to assign those to your username.

By the way, an important tip: To sign comments on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments.

Finally, here are some open tasks:

Your page is confusing[edit]

Your userbox says you don't use MS products (good idea) and yet it also says you contribute using WinXP. You can't have it both ways. Of course, it's your userpage, and you can put whatever you want to on it, but still. Alan 04:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Believe me, I know; I run Debian Linux as my base system, hence the vast majority of my contributions are made with it. However, for work purposes (and a few other, select purposes, like running Campaign Cartographer), I keep a VMware session available that has Windows XP present; since I don't really care which OS I use when I'm running a web browser (I use Mozilla, or a Mozilla-based browser either way), there are rare occasions when I make contributions from there. Even more rarely, I sometimes use Internet Explorer, but that's generally when nothing else is working; otherwise I use IETab when I absolutely must.

If there's a "Prefer not to use MS products, but occasionally has no choice" userbox, I'd use it. But I didn't see one when I set those up (granted, I haven't checked recently). --David Breakey 14:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There; I think that's the best I can do, for now, without creating my own userbox.--David Breakey 14:16, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here's an idea[edit]

If you remove the line that has div style="float:right; width:30%;" from your userpage, you'll have a much better format. Alan 00:53, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of PageStream[edit]

The article PageStream has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (software) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. December 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Poppy Playtime are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks.
