Welcome![edit]

Hello, Jan van Male, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at Naming Conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.
Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
Happy editing!

Helium FAC[edit]

I've responded to your concerns at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Helium. Please check. --mav 02:45, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Unsuccessfull merge[edit]

After an attempted merge of Reaction rate into Chemical kinetics, apparently something went completely wrong since the histories of both pages are now almost empty and instead of a merge, the Chemical kinetics page was overwritten with the contents of Reaction rate. I have been able to find the version of the page previous to this merge attempt. How should we proceed to solve this problem? Jan van Male 09:15, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Looks like someone solved it. For histories to be merged you need the help of an administrator. I'd be happy to do the history merge if you'd like to try again. Merge the text of one article into the other and request the merge on my talk page. Good luck! Mgm|(talk) 12:57, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

Olin College Edits- Thanks[edit]

Thank you very much for the thoughtful edits you made to the Olin College article. The article has been very much in need of new editors to help get things to a neutral point of view. --L33tminion | (talk) 01:31, Apr 15, 2005 (UTC)

I addressed your comments on the talk page and peer review page for the article. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Thanks for all your help. --L33tminion | (talk) 01:47, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)

Technetium PR[edit]

Since you were so helpful at the helium FAC, I was wondering if you might be interested in commenting at Wikipedia:Peer review/Technetium/archive1. I plan to put technetium through FAC once it gets through wikipedia:peer review. --mav 00:33, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Technetium FAR notice[edit]

I have nominated Technetium for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Cirt (talk) 23:19, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
