Original Projcet[edit]

The page says "The original project has been completed" without any reference to what the original project was. Later in the page it mentions New Zealand but not whether this was the "original project". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.184.237 (talk) 18:37, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree; this is very confusing. Someone please fix. Succubus MacAstaroth (talk) 12:10, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I just found the original oil spill that called for penguin sweaters. Will edit article now. Succubus MacAstaroth (talk) 12:28, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Project Dead, Needs Update[edit]

The project in response to the 2000 oil spill is long dead, though thousands of sweaters were donated. The New Zealand 2011 project similarly is dead, again with thousands of stockpiled sweaters. The veterinarians concerned never used the sweaters, and thought they'd be too traumatic for the penguins. Both organisations now just sell the donated sweaters to raise cash. A March 2014 publicity campaign by the Australian group called for more sweaters, implying they'd be used for oil-soaked penguins, but again intend to sell them in their gift shop. Debunking article with links to newspaper stories backing up all of the above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Giantflightlessbirds (talkcontribs) 20:35, 6 March 2014 (UTC) Mike | Giantflightlessbirds 20:37, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
