Slang[edit]

The slang note looks very spurious; please clarify and cite a better reference. --Cmprince 22:51, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

DJ Fergie[edit]

Added a redlink to DJ Fergie as a page I was updating linked here in reference to the DJ. -mike[F] 16:28, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Let's face it[edit]

Fergie(singer) is going to be the one that everyone directed here will be looking for. I call for the fergie page to redirect streight to her page, and create a link there to lead back here if she wasn't what they were looking for. If there are no objections, I'll do it in a few days. --24.15.165.14 01:26, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They'll be plenty of objections, the first one being from me. It's been tried many times before and hotly contested. When there's that much debate and lack of consensus over whither a word should redirect, a disambiguation page is always best.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 01:43, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think a lot of people would look for Alex Ferguson, manager of the biggest sports team in the world, more than the singer. 217.44.10.167 02:26, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first people I'd think of when I heard Fergie would be either alex ferguson, sarah ferguson or the DJ. The singer would come far behind that. I think a disambig page is definately best in this situation. 212.140.167.99 23:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Fergie" is Sarah Ferguson, obviously. She was famous as such when the singer was still a small child. — Chameleon 03:57, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fergie the "singer" has been around for 5 mins. I was looking for sarah ferguson. I oppose any sort of redirect. 82.3.18.24 20:52, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To think that most people would look for the Fergie (singer) is a highly US-centric view. A disambiguation is best here. See Template:Globalize 129.199.159.36 18:42, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Craig Ferguson fans often refer to him as Fergie, too. I don't think there needs to be a redirect. 71.48.76.59 (talk) 21:55, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Everyone going her is looking for Fergie the singer. Why would anyone call the other people "Fergie." These people do not go by the name as the singer does.--Cartman005 00:28, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense. Ask anyone over 30 (there are more people over 30 than under). "Fergie" refers to Sarah, Duchess of York, and that is precisely what she was called in the popular press for years and years before anybody heard of a band called the Black Eyed Peas. -GTBacchus(talk) 14:52, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For most people around the whole world including me Alex Ferguson is much better known by this name than the singer, even those who aren't very interested in football. Regardless of me being under 30 and even a Liverpool fan, I think the disambiguation is the best solution. --91.9.187.64 (talk) 13:19, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It surprises many Americans the extreme extent "Fergie" is applied to both Alex Ferguson and the ex-princess in media, so motions are frequently brought up to promote the Stacy Ferguson article to primary topic, but with the last Nov. 2010 move request, consensus again fell to continue with the current disambiguation setup. deMURGH talk 21:00, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Singer's birth year[edit]

The article on the Black Eyed Peas woman says 1975 and this should match. 202.126.211.238 (talk) 07:53, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There doesn't appear to be any sort of order in the disambiguation listing. Would other editors prefer to see it sorted chronologically or alphabetically? Astronomy Explained (talk) 00:36, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
