Does every relatively minor petroleum price fluctuation deserve its own article?--Pharos 01:26, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The price has been above $50 for over a month. Gasoline costs $2.25/gallon for regular unleaded where I live, and I'm relatively close to the Gulf coast. I wouldn't call this "minor." If 2004 deserves its own article regarding high oil prices, then 2005 does as well.

If this is considered part of the same phenomenon, then I should think they could very reasonably be merged into Oil price increases of 2004-2005.--Pharos 20:47, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

That seems like a possibility. While there was fall a lapse in prices between October and now, the price did not fall by very much. It has still stayed above $40. I think you might be able to make a case for merging the 2004 and 2005 articles.
