Republic of Congo[edit]

Hi there Vardion - welcome. I noticed you had edited the old RoC page - did you know that I was working on trying to move it over to the new format? I'd welcome some help - if you're interested, please follow the link at the top of the RoC page to the new one under construction. When its finished, we can move it over! Thanks! 2toise 09:38, 24 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Country locator maps[edit]

I love the maps - great work!2toise 05:28, 30 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Wikipedia is in need of better maps for just about everything geographical, and the ones that you uploaded look fine. If you have a source of GFDL (or fair use blah blah) -compatible quality maps, please let us know. Thanks, Kosebamse 06:22, 31 Oct 2003 (UTC)

more talk on my page - thanks, Kosebamse 07:56, 1 Nov 2003 (UTC)

You've done a good job! I love the pic you added to China, People's Republic of! :D Thanks! And I agree with you that some countries are too small to be showed in that map, any solutions? :O --FallingInLoveWithPitoc 17:58, 1 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Brilliant idea! I've checked out some of the countries containing new style of maps, and they look very good. Just let me know if I can help any. :D --FallingInLoveWithPitoc 02:11, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Nice job with the location maps you've been uploading! Hjr 05:49, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Nice maps! Your blank map of Europe, however, is missing Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Ukraine. --seav 07:34, Nov 16, 2003 (UTC)

It is good of you to add the little map of New Zealand but why is it very distorted in shape? I sure you know the real shape of NZ but in case you don't have a look at the satellite photos of NZ I put on. Presumably you are using a single map of the earth as your source but this produces huge distortions at the edges. I appreciate the map work you are doing but can another map source be found for the "edge" countries?

Sorry about the daft remark "in case you don't know the real shape"". I just discovered you are from NZ!
Adrian Pingstone 10:08, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)
Excellent new map of NZ. I like it!

I know I'm a bit late, but thanks a lot for all these nice maps, they are great! Kokiri 18:40, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Greeting from a fellow map maker :-) I somehow like your colorization of the maps more, so maybe you'd like to comment on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Thai provinces on the pros and cons of changing the provincial maps. andy 22:19, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Do you happen to know if Image:BlankMap-World.png is available unprojected, (i.e. without the robinson transformations)? Ojw 19:49, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Edward Hunter (Billy Banjo) Article[edit]

Hi there, how r u? Noticed some of the articles you have contributed to and your interests and thought you might be able to help.

I wrote an article (before I set up an account) about Edward Hunter (Billy Banjo) the Scottish born New Zealand socialist figure as I believe he was important to the development of the left in New Zealand. However, no articles have been linked to that article and I don't have a detailed enough knowledge to be able to do this myself. Could you help? Big Jim Fae Scotland

Cheers for getting back to us Vardion. Think you are right about a lack of articles to link the Edward Hunter article to (glad you thought it was okay though). There is actually a real dearth of stuff about him on the internet as a whole. Has there been much written about the man in New Zealand? Nothing about him here in Scotland, as although he was active politically I think he was a bigger name of the left in your part of the world - not really a leading player over here.

I would be interested to know if you had any more info on the man as he was actually my step-father's grandfather, so there is family interest here! Big Jim Fae Scotland
