Image copyright problem with Image:Gjirokastra-houses.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gjirokastra-houses.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. Blogs as citations[edit]

According to Wiki policy at WP:VERIFY blogs are not acceptable citation material. You may however, have the article in an External Links section or perhaps under a section titled Further Reading. That would perfectly acceptable. The fact remains that anyone has the ability to write a blog and thus blogs are not verifiable, reliable sources just like Wiki isn't really a reliable source (although it attempts to be) but is a useful tool for novices and people just wanting generalized info who hopefully realize that everyone is allowed to contribute. --Strothra 14:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it makes sense not allowing blogs when someone tries to use them to state a supposed fact. The reason I thought it was odd in this circumstance was that the blog entry in question was an editorial essay proposing an idea that led to me receiving the MIT Technology Review Award. So in that context, it seemed relevant, because it was the blog entry itself that led to that recognition. License tagging for Image:Seanpenn.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Seanpenn.jpg.
