Untitled[edit]

Finns are known maritime people, and a number of historical signs prove that many of the sea fearing Vikings were Finns, as well. Those Vikings include the so called Varangians and Gweens.

Some of the most important Finnish explorers after the middle ages have been (Pehr) Pietari Kalm, Herman Spöring, Gustave Niebaum (Nybom), Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld and C.G.A. Mannerheim.
