This should be deleted because there is no Mount Lebanon Township. There is a Municipality of Mount Lebanon, and that's covered best by the Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania page, which right now contains the same text as the Mount Lebanon Township page anyway. --M@rēino 03:05, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This is a little complicated. The article currently at Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania describes a census-designated place which Rambot unfortunately used the term "town" to describe. It appears to be a tiny corner of Mt. Lebanon. I can only speculate as to why it was separated out as a CDP. What was once known as Mount Lebanon Township at some point incorporated as the Municipality of Mount Lebanon. The Home Rule Charter of Mt. Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania Section 102 states "The boundaries of the Municipality shall be the actual boundaries of the Township of Mt. Lebanon at the time this Charter takes effect and as they may be lawfully changed." So IMO, the article at Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania should be either deleted or else moved to Mount Lebanon (CDP), Pennsylvania *(and language explaining what a CDP is added to it) and the present article at Mount Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania should then be moved to Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. I could not find any information about when the township adopted its charter or what the relation between the CDP and the municipality is (it appears to be within the municipality boundaries, but I can't tell for sure). It could be that as far as the Census Bureau is concerned, the Municipality still a township. older≠wiser 14:48, Nov 10, 2004 (UTC)- Feh! I really should have taken a closer look at the articles themselves. The Census information in both of these is identical. The Census Bureau does indeed have separate listings for both the township and the CDP, but they are identical, which is probably why Rambot created two articles. The ways of the Census Bureau are mysterious. I have come across a few other similar situations. Since the Census data is identical for these and there does not appear to be any other significant additions, there is no reason to keep both. - OK, I'm new here, so I didn't know that a redirect was possible. I'll vote for a redirect, too. Incidentally, I plan on writing a full version of the Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania article, as it's my hometown, but I want to wait until we figure out where I should post it.--M@rēino 17:50, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
