Could it be true?[edit]

"It is frequently heralded as the most widely respected broadcaster in the world."

I'm sceptical of this claim.

David Weman

Me too. Zfr 20:23, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
So am I, TRT is governments' private TV channel, speaking what President tells to.
The claim is patently ridiculous. At best it could be described as "a widely respected broadcaster internationally" (and even then such a claim would be widely disputed) but to claim its THE most widely respected broadcaster (on a par with the BBC) is laughable. Most people outside of Turkey have never even heard of it. 80.229.222.48 22:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Trtlogo.jpg[edit]

Image:Trtlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Turkish Radio and Television CorporationTRT (Turkey) – The network is widely, even internationally known under its acronym "TRT". The full name is only understood as it is sufficiently descriptive, but is otherwise only rarely used. It should of course remain in a prominent place of the lead. • Oppose: per WP:NATURALDIS, how many people are going to be searching for TRT (Turkey)? I'm sure lots will search for TRT and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation but not many adding (Turkey). Natural disambiguation prevents the need for parentheses, and in this case is also the WP:OFFICIALNAME. Ebonelm (talk) 17:06, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Uncertain: what about Televisora Regional del Táchira ? BBC and RAI are unique internationally English speaking countries recognizable acronyms, but TRT, out of Turkey, and some European countries, for example, in South and Central America ? --Robertiki (talk) 15:50, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Confusing times given, clarification needed[edit]

In the subsection Closing and opening times throughout the years, there's a line that reads 2002: TRT 1 & 2 open 24/7. 3 and 4 open 7:00-0:30. Does that mean that 3 and 4 both opened somewhere between 07:00 and 07:30, or 3 opened at 07:00 and 4 opened at 00:30, or something else? Please clarify -- Doktor Züm (talk) 17:39, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
