The Sister Churches[edit]

The explanation about the origins of the Sister Churches with which I am familiar is that the Maria Church may have been built to serve a religious community, such as convent of nuns, while the Nicholas Church was built for the use of the local parish community. The present explanation is confusing since Gran is a parish within the munipicality of Hadeland, i.e., one may assume that the other parishes of the municipality have their own parish churches. The first explanation makes more sense since by having their individual churches the convent and the parish could each have their own services without them interfering with each other. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.52.199.50 (talk) 04:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
