I'm working on translating a biography from Italian to English, in order to write a featured article. If possible, can you please translate just this paragraph:

Portuguese Wikipedia[edit]

Dude, you need to check yourself. I guess I've been to a city that doesn't exist, huh? I guess thousands of delusional tourists pour however-many millions of dollars down the toilet every year, and my friend made up the city he's from. Now that I see you speak English, I can holler at you here, since I don't speak Portugese. Even better, 'cause I can easily link to the article about the city that doesn't exist. Man, you don't even seem to give other uiquipedistas the benefit of the doubt—even a cursory Google search would reveal incontrovertible evidence of Monterey. Yet it's like if you don't know it, you assume it cannot be. You need to chill for a minute and not be going around like you the last word on everything just 'cause you a O.G. in this. Granted, linking alpha and beta could have been a little irrelevant, albeit harmless—I thought they could be useful, 'cause I always assume different readers' levels of knowledge when writing an article. But—not just objecting to one or two of my lusofications—you just reverted my whole edit, removing stuff that you yourself reinstated later on. "Milan", being written in English instead of in Portuguese (or even Italian), links to the football club instead of the city. It's obvious you've put in a lot of work in Wikipedia(s), but you gotta humble yourself a little before going around obliterating other people's edits without pause, acting like you're the final arbiter of the standard, without consultation. You seriously don’t see why I put um in the link? OK; the first time I saw it, I was confused—I expect terremoto to link to terremoto, except then there’s *another* terremoto link the next sentence down. One, of course, links to the article about earthquakes, and the other, specifically to the ’06 quake. By differentiating that—saying “an earthquake”—you make it clear that the link doesn’t point to the article about earthquakes in general, but about a specific ’quake—in this case, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. I’ll leave you to reinstate it in your subsequent edits of São Francisco, since I know you be putting in a lot of work to the Cali articles. —Wiki Wikardo

weatherbox[edit]

Hi Leslie,
I had to revert your recent additions of weatherboxes to Toronto and Montreal for the following reasons: the data you supplied doesn't match the source data at all and in English we use a period (.) and not a comma (,) as the decimal point (i.e. 48.3 and not 48,3). Also, if you plan on making more templates like this in the English Wikipedia please display the English measurements (°F, inches, etc.). Hi. Sorry, I had originally created the infobox for the respectives articles in the Portuguese Wikipedia, and I thought of using the information here as well, forgetting to change the commas to periods. Sorry for forgetting to put information in °F and inches as well. I doubled checked the information and the supplied data today, most of the information does match with the supplied source data, a mistake of mine was in the Toronto weatherbox, where I did put one wrong entry at avg. highest, and made following entries wrong as well, and writing cm instead of mm in the Montreal weatherbox, even though the information there is in mm.

I had also, in the total avg. annual precipitation, added the avg. monthly precipitation from the converted data in mm, instead of converting directly from the source data (total avg. precipitation in a year) in inches, so there was some difference between both data (of 2-3 mm), so I changed the information, converting the total annual in inches rather than adding the monthly in mm.

I used mm instead of cm, based in the NYC weatherbox. I did use 1 decimal place (i.e. 13,8 °C, and not 14 °C) for temperature and precipitation, I don't know if that is appropriate/allowed or not. I did the necessary changes, and put the weatherboxes at the respective articles again, please have a look there if they are ok. Regards, Leslie Mateus 05:58, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is a little confusing. You may just want to stick to what the source states. In any case I made some changes to the Toronto weather box. I'll let you play with the Montreal box. Also, I was playing with idea of creating a standard climate infobox (instead of several different ones). If I get close to something that works I'll let you know. About the bus in Niagara Parks Commission People Mover, can you describe the manner in which the two vehicles are attached? Is it a drawbar along with some kind of Jumper cables?
