Confusion[edit]

Is this page confusing to anyone else? I'd fix it, but I suspect I might just make it worse...

How is it confusing? It gives her background info and what happened during SF Adventures. Dunno... you can re-word it if you want to. Thunderbrand 19:15, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

Does anyone else see the first paragraph is bolded and italicized? I can't seem to fix it. Thunderbrand 15:47, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)

I fixed it by simply rewording the first sentence that dealt with Star Fox Assult. The problem was that the software was trying to make one of the apostrophes represent something else. --TheDotGamer Talk 23:08, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)

Krystal's Age[edit]

As of right now, it should be noted that the age of Krystal is unknown. --Arima 01:11, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, although from some places I've heard she's around 18 during Star Fox Adventures. Thunderbrand 01:15, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
Are you Sure?--Arima 01:17, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not 100% sure. It doesn't say in the instruction booklet or anywhere official, its just what I have heard. Thunderbrand 01:19, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
On the Star Fox team article, User:65.33.64.58 has identified Krystal as being 20 years old. Can someone confirm this? Jaxl 01:16, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I was gonna remove all their ages after Star Fox 64, since nowhere official states their ages specifically. I think in the Star Fox 64 players guide it gives their ages, and the anon. user just took their ages and extrapolated them. Like I said above, I've only heard of her being 18 in Adventures.Thunderbrand 01:43, July 28, 2005 (UTC)
Okay, should Krystal's age be changed back to N/A then, or should it be kept at 20? Jaxl 02:00, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
We may not know exactly until then, but at least we know she's younger than Fox...--Arima 02:47, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'm going to change it back to N/A for now, until someone can find any kind of source on her age. Jaxl 02:54, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the Japanese site for Star Fox Adventures, and gives the character ages. Krystal was 19 in that game, so she's 20 in Star Fox Assault. [1] -- VederJuda 23:54, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Intruction Booklets, in SFA is 8 years after SF64, and Assault is 1 year after that meaning Fox is about 27 years old. AgentExeider 6:02, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Cheesy Love Films?[edit]

Someone replaced the description of her "theme" music as saying it sounds like something found in "cheesy love films"; although I do think it's better than "pornographic film" since this game aims at a younger audience, porn is more easily identifiable. Since there is no description of "cheesy love films" found on wikipedia, I changed it. If anyone thinks it would be better to say "cheesy love film", then would you please create an article that explains what this is exactly. I have also linked it to "romantic films", so if that seems good enough, then by all means remove the porn link. -- VederJuda 23:54, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dinosaur Planet's Krystal[edit]

I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to include a picture of what Krystal looked like before Dinosaur Planet became Star Fox Adventures. Any thoughts? -- VederJuda 17:51, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bio[edit]

I added a bio to all of the Star Fox team members, but the one on Krystal's page was reverted. Can anybody tell me why? -- PlatformerMastah

I dunno. Ask the person. Thunderbrand 17:14, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fandom section[edit]

I've restored the fandom bit. It needs to be rewritten, not omitted. It's certainly relevant; she's an incredibly popular character. Radix 05:51, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the reason people keep removing it is that it is unsourced or POV. However, I think it is written OK, since most of it is true. Thunderbrand 17:09, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that it isn't entirely necessary, but if it must remain, I think it should be rewritten a bit. PlatformerMastah 00:28, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If she really is extremely popular it needs a source. The bit about her suggestive clothing is being a reason is certainly original research. "Some fans did not like the changes of her character from a game that was never released" why is this important? kotepho 07:28, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Modeler/Artist Question[edit]

I have recently begun contact with one of the artists of Star Fox Adventures. This person told me that the the following people modeled Krystal:
Star Fox Adventures Krystal Model - Johnni Christensen
Dinosaur Planet Krystal Model - Kevin Bayliss
You can verify that these people did work on Star Fox Adventures here: GameFAQs Star Fox Adventures Game Info. While I cannot provide verification information, since I have promised not to reveal this person's identity in exchange for the chance to ask them questions about the game, I call into question that Takaya Imamura is the "Character Designer" of Krystal, as he is not even in the credits for Star Fox Adventures. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dwighthouse (talkcontribs)

That could have been an honest mistake... --Luigifan 03:21, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How much of this information is fan content?[edit]

I just spent some time rewriting and revising pretty much the entire article. I removed some pieces that are unnecessary or not relevant to Krystal herself (for example, the Adventures section was very close to being a complete synopsis of the entire game). I left most of the salient information intact, but I want to know how much of it is actually verifiable (I can't verify gameplay elements at work, obviously) and how much is fan-contributed and speculative info. The non-verifiable stuff should be removed, IMO, or at least moved to a fan wiki and/or a fandom section for the article. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:20, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think any of it was fan stuff, just the Adventures section was a bit bloated. Thanks for the help. Thunderbrand 15:12, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Retcon[edit]

According to issue 208 of Nintendo Power, Krystal is now a wolf.207.179.136.20 04:50, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NP called her "wolflike", it didn't say she IS a wolf. -- VederJuda 03:58, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's been long established that Krystal is (and has been since Adventures) a fox. She may be wolf-like in behavior - that's not an uncommon description for a feminine character - but her species is widely accepted as a fox.She looks like Rahzar. Also, Nintendo Power is not necessarily the ultimate authority on such things - they've been known to be wrong before (when compared to official publications from the game companies). — KieferSkunk (talk) — 08:09, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, the wonders of stereotypes... Ouch. --Luigifan 23:30, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hee hee, I remember a quote from Nintendo Power's Power Awards: "Krystal may be a fox, but she looks like a wolf" according to our readers." :p --Luigifan 03:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Main image[edit]

Shouldn't the main image of a character be the most recent one? If so, why was the main image (the one from Command) reverted to the previous one from Assault?

Also, why exactly was the Krystal crying image from Command removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by PlatformerMastah (talkcontribs)

I dunno. Just some anon IP's doing what they want. I'll re-add them. Thunderbrand 15:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Probably because the previous image is... well, you know... I don't want to say it. No, seriously. --Luigifan 03:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Partial) Restoration[edit]

Okay, I've restored this page, but, to keep the community happy, I've also kept the redirect. However, this seems to have activated a bug, so here's how to get around it. When you follow a link to the page, at first the redirect will work as normal, leading you straight to the List of characters in the Star Fox series#Krystal page. Then, you must override the redirect by clicking on the link in the redirect message. Now, you will, as normal, see the large text telling you that the page is redirected to something else, and no more (except for the list of categories.) In order to actually view the article, you must go into its history and compare two versions. This will show the entire article under the difference summary, as normal when you are comparing two versions. However, you must be comparing the current version to the next most recent one, or you will see a prior version of the page. However, if you have this page on your watchlist or list of contributions, you can just click on the "diff" and reach the article with no muss or fuss. This way, those who want to see the full article on Krystal can do so, while the redirect is still in place and most people will just go along for the ride, so the mods should be happy. I know that this explanation was really drawn-out, so, if you got this far, then thanks for listening in. Well, that should be that. If anybody else wants to restore a redirected page, then you should just follow the same method that I used; go to edit, copy the redirect, then revert to a non-redirected version and paste the redirect to the top. Well, see you later! --Luigifan 23:44, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason to do this. If people want to see the old page, they can do it themselves. Thunderbrand 01:23, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't get what you mean by that. And, FYI, I kept the redirect so that I wouldn't get pestered like this. It still goes where it's supposed to go; it just makes it a bit easier for people to see the full article, the way it was before being redirected (well, okay, plus a few minor edits from yours truly.) --Luigifan 12:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Argh! Hey, please, cut it out! I kept the redirect precisely so that this sort of thing wouldn't happen... --Luigifan 12:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, for crying out loud, PLEASE STOP THE REVERTING!!!! Haven't you noticed that I've been trying to compromise?!? --Luigifan 03:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no compromise. It's a goddamned redirect. I pointed out to you in the guidelines eariler that redirects should not be categorized like regular articles. They can't read the text as it is; it still redirects them to the main article. They have to click back anyway, and you might as well give them a link to the history, as Thunderbrand pointed out. Hbdragon88 03:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it would help if I knew how to link to the page history. --Luigifan 12:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Here's a revision from September 11, before the anon user merged it into the main article. Surprised, though - are you copying the text from a hard drive file or something? I thought you were already well versed in looking up page histories. Hbdragon88 23:58, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what the hell is going on here, but there should not be any content after a redirect (and the redirect templates). A page should either be a redirect or a normal article. There is no compromise. --- RockMFR 09:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's been a slow-moving edit war here since 22 December. Annoying, but it's not fast enough to trigger a 3RR violation. The history has the gory details. I gave Luigi the revision and was waiting for him to self-revert, but I guess you've done the revert. Let's hope this has ended. Hbdragon88 01:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It hasn't, but you'll notice that I've agreed to keep the "R from merge" bit, even though I don't really know what it means. Hey, wait... I think I remember you from someplace... --Luigifan 12:24, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your time is up. The fated hour has come and passed. five users have all agreed that the redirect should not contain any other information besides the link and the the redirect R from merge template. Why are you going against the grain of accepted consensus? Hbdragon88 06:13, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because I feel that the character is popular enough to warrant her own article. --Luigifan 12:23, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, a Sonic: The Fated Hour reference... you're the first guy who posted on my talk page, over my article for that game. Am I right, Hbdragon? --Luigifan 11:20, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You just got that now? That was a reference to that article, yes it was. Technically, someone else did welcome you first.... Hbdragon88 00:27, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Like I said, if you want to argue that she should once again have her own article, start a discussion on the talk page. Otherwise, stop junking the redirect with stuff that nobody can see. Hbdragon88 00:05, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page is a Double Redirect that needs fixing[edit]
