Untitled[edit]

I may simply be showing my ignorance, but listing the Greek letter under the heading of 'PIE/pie' looks to me to be a bit silly. If people want to look up pi, being the number or the letter, then they should look up pi, not pie. By all means relegate 'pi' to the 'See also' section on this page for those who mistype or misspell, but confusing the two things together in the same list is the reverse of disambiguation, in my book!

PIE root[edit]

What's a "PIE" root? Saw it in Etymology dictionary, eg. here: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=litotes&allowed_in_frame=0 "from PIE root *(s)lei- "slimy, sticky, slippery" (hence "smooth"); see slime (n.)."CrocodilesAreForWimps (talk) 20:45, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, figured it out: Proto-Indo-European root, and added it CrocodilesAreForWimps (talk) 20:54, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Public Interest Entity[edit]

It is a term for large corporations and coined by the EU and commonly abbreviated PIE. I just stumbled across the acronym in a peer-reviewed scientific article without any explanation. Might be worth adding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.23.170.99 (talk) 18:56, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
