Request[edit]

It would be nice for a knowledgeable person to create an article on tracker organs. This article mentions them with no definition. The current tracker article concerns music software, but has a link to a disambiguation page with a single sentence definition of tracker organs. --Blainster 05:02, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Article Cleanup[edit]

The last section of this article is just a massive wall of text. A few images and paragraph breaks/formatting would do this article a service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.158.119.137 (talk) 05:39, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that you refer to the "Some Significant Casavant Organs" section, in which the significance of the organs listed has not been treated. Each should have its own referenced paragraph to describe its significance, beginning with uniform identification, say <opus>,<year>,<location>. Dhadams (talk) 00:10, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is not in reference to this section, but to a section that I removed - see the red text in this link, which clearly exceeded the recordings category. [1] Rohrwerk (talk) 03:59, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't understand why recordings list not appropriate - they document the builder's work in sound. Section on recordings could indeed be improved and annotated, but removing it simply because the subject is not a recording artist is not appropriate. May 2011 - Per the suggestion above, I'm completing work to supply Opus numbers and dates for all the instruments currently on the "Signficant organs" list. I've also provided links to specifications and other information where I could find something. I did not purposefully delete any information or entries. I agree that this list still needs documention as to why the instruments are "significant" while others not on the list are not. I especially note that except for one listing for Mexico, there are no entries for any organs outside the US/Canada. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.55.104 (talk) 19:07, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

May 2011 - Completed the work described above, supplying as much information as I could find and also reodrering the list by Opus number. I can't find any information on the last intrument on the list other than a reference to their Casavant on the church's website. Suggest removal from the list unless someone can provide a reason for it's inclusion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.55.104 (talk) 19:09, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Extended article on Gould recording inappropriate[edit]

The contribution of a long, poorly written paragraph on the Casavant organ used in the Glenn Gould recording of the Art of Fugue is out of place in a listing of recordings. Additional irrelevant information on details of the building's construction and the fire also strays far off the article topic. It does not even give proper bibliographic data for the recording in question! It should be completely deleted. Rohrwerk (talk) 16:28, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed off-topic information and added current recording reference Rohrwerk (talk) 17:49, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
