The 1968 paper "Computer as a Communications Device" by JCR Licklider and Robert Taylor of ARPA describes an agent named OLIVER that is remarkably like the Knowledge Navigator scenario. See http://gatekeeper.dec.com/pub/DEC/SRC/publications/taylor/licklider-taylor.pdf

Hey does anyone else see disturbing similarities with Apple products now? Like the chat in the professor video -- it's basically Leopard's iChat, with the ability to share presentations and whatnot. Apple's already stuck a Web cam on all its notebook computers, too. The speech recognition in Mac OS X isn't far off from this, either. There might not be some dude talking back, but I'd say (as far as vision statements) Apple's pretty darn close. Especially with the advent of the iPhone. Thoughts? NPOV?[edit]

The following appears to be opinion, not encyclopedic "as powerful a vision of the future of computing as 2001: A Space Odyssey."

Agree. It's hard to compare "a powerful vision of the future of computing" and would suggest deletion of this phrase or at least a rewording. ---Invenio 02:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any more info on Apple Creative Services?[edit]

Does anyone have more info on Apple Creative Services? Does it still exist as a business unit? What were its beginnings and purposes? If someone has more info on it, maybe an extra article about Apple Creative Services would be nice. ---Invenio 03:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
