Could someone who knows a bit about these people, disambiguate some of the links to this page? I'm particularly confused about John Davies (poet) and Dr John Davies (historian); One page link I saw was in List of Poets, where there was a listing as Dr John Davies (historian), but had the same birth/death years as John Davies (poet). As there isn't an article about John Davies (historian), it is possible they may be the same person?

I also don't know how many politicians there are by the name - I don't know for sure that the political pages mentioning John Davies are meant for Ernest Albert John Davies (politician), John Quentin Davies, or possibly another John Davies! -- Chuq 08:46, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)

There's also List of Vice-Chancellors of the University of Cambridge; it refers to one who served in that capacity in 1725, which doesn't fit the dates of anyone here. Lim Bo Seng refers to a "Captain John Davies" who was active in India in 1942; he might or might not be one of the ones listed here. Tualha 00:20, 10 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I found the one from 1942: John Paton Davies, American diplomat, victim of McCarthyism. Researching an article for him now. Tualha 01:12, 10 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
