Rouge vs Rogue[edit]

Just a wee nit-picky thought. It is ROUGE planet and not ROGUE? ping 07:34, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Only if they're red.  :) RickK 07:39, Sep 26, 2004 (UTC)

Definition[edit]

I've never heard of the definition proposed in this article about just being highly inclined. Can we get a reference on it? If it gets removed, then the sumerian stuff should probably be removed too. McKay 14:20, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

okay, I did it, I was bored and WP:BOLD McKay 20:55, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At this point it's not really clear to me what the benefit is from having separate articles about "rogue planet" and "interstellar planet". The nomenclature is not absolutely fixed, but right now neither article makes any clear distinction between those two terms. Kevin Nelson 04:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I think there should be a merge. Until about last week, someone had an entry here that mentioned that Rogue Planet could also mean a planet with a highly elliptical orbit or orbit off of the ecliptic. That was recently removed (lack of verifiablity). Personally, I think Rogue Planet is a much more common term (but my background in this regard comes from Science Fiction, where the term Rogue Planet is used more, probably because it sounds cooler than interstellar planet).
