Untitled[edit]

Saddened by the death of Martyn Bennett. He was one of our greatest musicians ever and truly deserved more recognition from the Scottish public. He will be missed.

I've added three albums so far, will add the rest later. The section about Grit could be moved to the actual album page now it exists. R.I.P. Martyn.

A few thoughts toward things that might further this page...

  • A list of other albums/recordings he appeared on (eg Grand Concert Of Scottish Piping 1996)
  • My understanding is that he got married & had a kid just before his demise, maybe a brief addition on this
  • Maybe some info on his apparent band with his (wife, significant-other type lady-person)
  • A list of the instruments he played

Ooh, just peeking around online, here's some great information from what should be a very reliable source -- http://www.footstompin.com/artists/martyn_bennett. Makes me think that adding a section about awards won could be good as well. ManOnPipes 02:52, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional source[edit]

There's some good biographical information in his obituary in The Scotsman:
