Why do you hate blind people Raul??? --brian0918™ 01:02, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Without getting into the numerous reasons why I reverted, I'll give you the simplest and most clearcut -- because the image server is already overloaded without us going out of our way to make the situation much worse. →Raul654 01:18, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

We discussed the issue of the image server with dammit, who said it would be "no trouble at all" to link the 15 MB ogg file on the main page. You mentioned "numerous reasons"--can you elaborate? But let's do it quickly, before we miss the opportunity to feature this recording, which is really quite excellent. Demi T/C 07:59, 2005 Apr 20 (UTC)

Okay--how about this: just as the "Today's featured article" template is a short introduction to the featured article, how about we take a short introductory section out of the full recording and link to that on the main page instead? It's analogous to the content people are seeing--they can sample the recording and get the full recording from the main article if they desire. brian0918 has prepared a , which is less than 600 kB in size, and therefore server- and bandwidth-friendly. I've added the link back to the template. To provide a little more background, brian0918 and I verified with dammit that this file is small enough to be cached by the squids, so there will be no additional load on the image servers. Demi T/C 16:53, 2005 Apr 20 (UTC)

Disambig repair needed[edit]

Can someone please pipe "American" to United States? Thanks. -- BD2412 talk 14:04, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
