People who want to enjoy with mountain must see manaslu[edit]

The manaslu mountain is very beautiful than others mountain in Nepal in my opinion

Wrong mountains indeed[edit]

So am I, so I have removed it. But it can still be accessed via the Manaslu history tag. By clicking on it to enlarge it, its caption can be seen, which correctly states that it shows Annapurna IV, Annapurna II and Lamjung. By all means upload it to the Pokhara and/or Annapurna pages. Korean Expeditions[edit]

The team leader of the '71 expedition was Kim Chong-sup, not Kim Ho-sup. Regarding the '72 Korean attempt on the northeast, I have other references that state that 15 total were killed in the avalanche. Can anyone varify with a legit source? --Bentonia School 03:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The AAJ 1972 has the leader being Kim Ho-sup. Of course they could be in error. What is your reference for Kim Chong-sup?
Regarding 1972, AAJ 1973 confirms that "fifteen members of a South Korean expedition were killed when on April 10 avalanches overwhelmed their Camp III at 21,300 feet. The dead were four Koreans including the leader, Kim Ho Sup, one Japanese and ten Sherpas." I'll edit the article accordingly. -- Spireguy 18:07, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My source for Kim Chong-sup is the Corea Alpine Club and Explorers Web. I have noted however that the Explorers Web article is basically a lift from the Corea Apline Club article. I would assume that Corea Alpine Club would have a better reference for the anglicization of Korean names, but perhaps not. Hm, I just noticed that the Corea Alpine Club article has been changed (and with pretty bad English). The Explorers Web article is in tact. Manaslu Circuit / Larke Pass Trekking In Nepal[edit]

Manaslu at 8163 meters (26, 775') is the 8th highest peak in the world and is located near to the border of Nepal and Tibet. First-hand account of the first ascent?[edit]

Does anyone know if there is a first hand account of the first ascent of Manaslu? These 3 books [1] [2] [3] appear to have been published at about the right time, but it doesn’t look like they were written by members of the expedition, except possibly the last one.--Wikimedes (talk) 04:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This site [4] claims Aritsune Maki lead the first ascent expedition. He also wrote the book in link 2. Are he and Yuko Maki the same person?--Wikimedes (talk) 07:53, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This site [5] lists Takayoshi Yoda as the cameraman of the expedition, while the author of the photo essay of the first ascent at link 1 is Yoshinori Yoda. Are they the same person? (Link 5 is a first hand account of the first ascent at any rate.)--Wikimedes (talk) 08:24, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Folks at WikiProject:Japan have informed me that Yuko Maki and Aritsune Maki are different readings of the same characters and pointed out that the author of the book of photographs is in fact Takayoshi Yoda.
