POV and poorly written article. Starts off with Peer Services; A Viable and Powerful Alternative to the Industry of Psychiatry! -- Stevietheman 16:02, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete - sounds like the same thing as the self-help group. Doubt anything could be merged though. Too far gone down POV lane. TPK 16:32, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Looks like an ad, or at least promotional materials for some service. (Aren't "peer services" otherwise known as "friends?") Geogre 00:12, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
    • Hardly. Formal roups and mentorships relying on peers are established modes (in many cases endorsed by professionals). And there is also such a thing as symmetrical one-on-one peer counselling, not just ad hoc between friends but organized formally; some of them use a rule that counselling time must be reciprocated by switching roles, usually immediately, and joke about topping people who pay for expensive therapy, by claiming they pay their counsellor twice as much (since their respective "fees" cancel each other).
  • Delete - smells like an ad, not an article. -- Cyrius| 06:13, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
  • Del. Ad, little but PoV. --Jerzy(t) 18:29, 2004 Jul 30 (UTC)
  • The thing must have been written by someone in a marketing department; its hundreds of words could easily be summarized as "Peer Services are an alternative to traditional psychiatry where one discusses his or her problems with peers rather than with an expert." In particular, the "big businesses oppose it" stuff is inherently POV. Delete. --Ardonik 04:42, Jul 31, 2004 (UTC)
