I think 187 BC is the date of Marcus' consulate, not of his birth—Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.140.6.107 (talk) 20:16, 20 March 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is right. M. Aemilius Lepidus was pretor in 191 BC and consul in 187 and 175 BC. His date of birth is not reported in the sources, but he was likely to be born around 220-225 BC. The date of his death was 152 BC. --Calabrian 10:03, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it would be better to have it as Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 187 BC), as I proposed at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ancient Romans), under the rule of "first time at highest rank". Dates of offices are the most reliable disambiguators in the Republic - death dates are probably the second most reliable... Stan 17:48, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 189 BC)Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 187 BC) – Speedy one. Lepidus was consul in 187, not 189. Problem is there is already a redirect of that name, and I don't know how to properly rename the page. T8612 (talk) 16:13, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
