"New Cinema" link[edit]

In the Distribution section, the company 'New Cinema' links to the page for No Wave Cinema, which is a genre/movement and not a distribution company. Additionally, I can't find anything online about a distribution company with that name, and searching for it on Wikipedia only gives the No Wave Cinema page (which seems correct as they're interchangeable terms). The article link is incorrect. It should either be a piped/red link or unlinked altogether, so feel free to BE BOLD and make the change. I'm pretty sure I added it to the infobox (just the name, not the link) and you can find it mentioned if you Google 'New Cinema' and 'Koyaanisqatsi' or 'New Cinema Enterprises'. It's not a well-known company (and probably doesn't even exist anymore) but it should be mentioned in the infobox. 16:25, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Pronounciation update[edit]

I've updated the pronounciation in the lead sentence and I want to clarify my changes here to prevent any further edits:

Hopi pronounciation is based on the IPA chart in the official Hopi Dictionary (link here; requires free login to Internet Archive)
Since some Hopi sounds are not in the English language, I've replaced those with the closest English equivalents found at Help:IPA/English (e.g. Hopi q → English k)
Syllable breakdown is based on the title screen at the end of the film, which reads: ko.yaa.nis.qatsi[1]

The last two syllables ("qatsi") are slightly different in Hopi and English. It would be pronounced "qa-tsi" in Hopi with, but "qat-si" in English (due to the lack of a proper "ts" sound in English).

Update on more changes:

To better comply with MOS:PRONPLACEMENT, pronounciations have been formatted into a footnote.
The "alternative pronouncations" were removed. Although they were both taken from reliable sources, they were nevertheless incorrect. Both of those cited pronouncations had incorrect syllabifications and added in an extra consonant or vowel sound that isn't present.
Because the page Help:IPA/Hopi does not exist (at the time of writing), it should be noted that the citation for the Hopi pronouncation is the "Spelling and pronounciation" section in the appendix of the Hopi Dictionary, which includes an IPA chart (p. 863) and explanation of syllabification and word stress (p. 864). The section states the following:

"Syllable structure: The rule of syllabification is straightforward: a single constonant followed by a vowel begins a syllable."

In words longer than 2-syllables, "the second syllable is normally stressed if the first syllable is short". The book continues to list exceptions to this rule, however, none of them apply to koyaanisqatsi.

The footnote which cited the syllabification in the film's end title screen was removed for redundancy.
